Ethics office hours

Tara's in her office bright and early for office hours although once Spider Jerusalem gets back to her with an appointment time she's closing up shop.

"All I asked her to do was say something positive about vampires for our journalism project," Logan said. "Not build the Great Pyramids or anything. And she just kept spewing out insults. I finally told her to forget this assignment and I'd figure something else for her to do, and she flipped out."

"You remember the morally objectionable clause?" Tara grins wryly. "Sounds like that one tripped hers. She should have just said so, though, instead of 'flipping out', as you say. What's your safeword, by the way?"

"She suggested 'Lorelai,'" Logan said. "And yeah, I figured. That's why I suggested that we do something else, when I realized that this really wasn't working for her."

Tara bites her lip, thinking for a moment. "Well, if Parker's really having that much trouble with it... how about you swap? I mean, you seem to be trying really hard on this assignment, I wouldn't want you to be penalised because your partner's not playing fair."

Tara blinks, surprised. "With Parker. Obviously she's not comfortable letting someone else take the control, and I'm sure it doesn't matter to you which role you take. If she's happy to switch roles, are you good with that?"

Logan considered this. "Honestly, I wouldn't trust her at this point. She's vindictive, and she's furious with both Angelus and me. She might do something harmful just to get back at us."

"I certainly wouldn't want to put you in a position you were uncomfortable with, Logan," Tara assures him. "But you're allowed to say no to anything that you feel is unsafe on physical, emotional and psychological grounds. Technically, she has only the power you let her have."
