"Hello, mateys!" Jack greeted the class cheerfully from where he sat on a fruit crate. "Today we're going to talk of foragin' on your new island, otherwise known as 'How hungry will you be before you eat a durian?'"

He held up the fruit, which smelled like shit. No, really emitted a pungent aroma. He swung his hand around at the coconuts, crabs (which were trying to escape), mangos, and papayas.

And then at the crude spears he'd fashioned. "Or you can try to catch yourself a sea turtle," he said with a laugh, "but that's high level pirating there."

Makita took one of the spears Jack had fashioned, breaking off the spearhead and using that to saw her mango in half. She could scoop out the interior with her makeshift blade as she liked; the crabs would require getting a fire started to boil them, and Maki didn't feel like making the effort today.
