Being Marooned: Not So Bad! [Thursday, May 13]

As was only fitting, Jack's class was meeting on the beach. He was waiting for them, hat perched atop his head, bottom perched atop a giant clothing trunk.

This would not end well.

"Hello, my young ruffians!" he said, standing up and doffing his hat before bowing extravagantly. "I am Captain--Captain--Jack Sparrow. You may call me Captain Jack Sparrow."

As you would.

"Some day you might find yourself the captain of your very own ship," he continued, "a beautiful ship, and fast, with lovely lines and the ability to outrace every dingy ever launched by the British crown. And then some blackhearted traitor will mutiny against you and send you to live on a miserable spit of land for no reason at all!"

Not that he was bitter. "So we will learn how to make the most of a bad situation, me hearties. But first you must be properly attired."

He pointed to the chest. "Inside you will find totally authentic"--it wasn't--"attire fit for your time in this class. Please change in the tents over there and report back to me in double quick time."

When the class returned (he hoped that someone had picked one of the nubile wench outfits), he pointed to the tiny ship anchored close to shore. "Now we have to start out authentically. You must all walk the plank." He waggled his eyebrows at them. "And please, do it with some style."

Tim found a pirate coat (which was a little long, but gave it a nice dramatic flair) and tried out a sash. The sash wasn't quite working for him.

Leda's biggest trouble was choosing which outfit. But she was ultimately happy with her choice (http://www.buypiratecostumes.com/realistic_female_pirate_costume.html).

Puck found an eyepatch and lost his shirt.

Costume: acquired.

Layla just went with the typical tavern wench outfit that was a bit more modest than most of the female costumes.

Though she did go with an eyepatch just for kicks.
endsthegame: (apathetic)

Ender... tried to go for the clothes that looked least ridiculous. There were not a lot of accessories involved, no.
vanillajello: (Smiling sideways.)

Kate found what was probably the most ridiculous (not to mention least authentic) girls' costume in the bunch, and ended up looking... not all that ridiculous, actually.

She could work that, dammit.

"You look like what would happen if Little Miss Muffet wanted to grow up to be a pirate," Puck told her thoughtfully, tilting his head.
vanillajello: (Smirk.)

Kate looked down at her outfit. "Huh. You actually have a point. I do," she said, smirking a bit as she looked up at him. "You, on the other hand, look like you didn't make much of an effort."

And he looked hot, but did she really have to point that out?

"What do you mean? I have an eyepatch!" he protested. "And piratey jewelry," he added, pointing to his nipple ring. "I'm just a really hardcore pirate."
vanillajello: (Yeah sure.)

Kate snorted. "Sorry, Puck, but you look like you've been robbed by pirates."

"Eyepatch!" he insisted, pointing some more. "I'm like one of those awesome hardcore pirates who swordfights without a shirt!"
vanillajello: (All amused at you.)

"They let you keep the eyepatch because they all already had one and didn't need a spare." Beat. "And they felt sorry for you."

"You're just jealous," he decided. "And cranky because you don't have your tuffet. Whatever that is."
vanillajello: (Smug.)

[personal profile] vanillajello 2010-05-13 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
"Nothing to be jealous about. I look fabulous, and you look like a victim of pirate on pirate crime." That cheerfully smug smirk of hers was just not going to go away. "And I don't need a tuffet. I can stand."
officetightass: (what the heck.)

Angela picked through the clothes in a way that said she would rather be doing anything else rather than this. Finally she muttered, "There's nothing in my size."

She hadn't checked sizes.

In a manner or minutes Delirium looked like a tiny version of Jack, minus the hat.

...She wanted that hat.

The outfits seemed delightfully colorful and Bohemian to Christian. He put on (http://www.buypiratecostumes.com/authentic_pirate_costume.html) a cinched waistcoat and soft, high boots, tying a few scarves around his waist for extra color.

He kept having to bat the scarf on the hat out of his face, but that was a small price to pay.

Makita gabbed something (http://www.buypiratecostumes.com/elizabeth_swann_pirate_costume.html) that she could at least walk in without flashing everyone in some manner or another. Not that she had much to flash; even after six months in Fandom, she was still a bit on the scrawny side.

Kurt got all dressed up and ready to buckle some swashes (http://www.buypiratecostumes.com/swashbuckler.html).

And started waving his plastic sword around with panache.

Lion-o eyed one of the rubber swords with contempt. He opted for a a vest over a gauze shirt, then finished with belt with buckle and sash. He skipped the eye patch but did try to put on a bandanna.

Bruce went with the Cutthroat (http://www.buypiratecostumes.com/captain_cutthroat.html) costume, mostly because he thought the coat showed some real style that the rest of the costumes (and that costume) were lacking.
