The weather was still lovely, of course. And there were all these neat tables of moddable snackies to help break those awkward silences that were so common with teenage get-togethers.

Zack blinked, and then his smile went from giddy to just downright playful.

"Are you offering me help undressing, Ino?"

Right there in the open!

Zack laughed, giving his head a shake before a small click by his ear notified him to his success in at least working his way out of his armor.

"Okay, okay, you totally didn't just offer," he allowed, holding some of the assorted plating and strapping her way. "But if you don't mind, I could use someone to hold these while I work on the rest of it, so it's not all just kicking around in the dirt."

See, she was just going to take the things he offered her, doing her best to steal a quick kiss as she did so.

"If I were undressing you," she purred, "it wouldn't be in public."

Hmph. Ino called that payback for teasing her.

Pardon Zack while he took a moment to stop and gape, halfway through undoing the straps and clasps that held his girdle on.

Yep. Lots of gaping. And the blush was spectacular.

"... Yeah?"

Breathe, puppy.

Her blush, inexplicably, had deepened into a glorious rosy shade at his reaction.

He sounded--maybe interested? Blushing was good, right? Or or something! She'd only meant to tease him! Had she gone too far?

"Well," she said, wondering if she could just... pass out from blushing now. "Privacy is a good thing?"

Maybe they could both pass out! Right now! It would be great! The two of them, in a crumpled heap at the welcome picnic because all of their blood had rushed to their faces and then maybe their heads would explode and actually, that would be bad, wouldn't it?

Gods, even Zack's thoughts were rambling, now.

"Yep," he agreed, his spoken words completely being trampled on by whatever was going on inside of his head right now. "Privacy is usually appreciated by people. I mean. When there's..." Oh, could he blush any harder? "...undressing."

"Unless they're into voyeurism." Why couldn't she keep her mouth shut? Why? And why had this had to come up right at the picnic?

Could they, like, just stop talking about it--thinking about it!--and do something.

... Wait. No! Bad thought. Augh.

"Not that I am," she added hurriedly. Just in case he got the wrong idea. "Uh. Either as a participant or the voyeur or nothing like that. I like privacy!"

And oh great, she was rambling.

"Voy--" Zack wouldn't even get the word out, there. It made it to somewhere in his throat, and then tapered off in what could best be described as a squeak.

It was not exactly a squeak of protest. It was just the sort of squeak that happened when Zack made the mistake of looking back over the conversation so far. He was going to cover up for this squeak by wriggling his way out of his turtlenecked tank-top, to show that, see, he was still totally placing his priorities in the proper order, here. Right?

"I mean, I know you're not a voyeur. You just said you wouldn't undress me in public and all..."

"Or in private!" she squeaked. "I mean, if you didn't--want me to. I can not. You know. And definitely not like that. Voyeur-ing, I mean."

That made very little sense. Even to her.

"I can--go. Find chocolate. I think I need some." Possibly water and a pillow to hide her face in and laugh helplessly. "And that'd take all talk of voyeurs away. And undressing! Which is--good? Maybe?"

She certainly didn't know!

"I don't know!" He was laughing, now, hugging his shirt to his chest and trying not to just take a seat on the ground and laugh until he pulled something. "I mean, I wouldn't- Um. It's not a bad thing to- Er. I mean!"

This was going so very smoothly.

"This conversation was going better before the voyeurs," he settled on, burying his face in his hand and working on getting air back into his lungs.

"I didn't mean to bring them up," she said, almost penitent. And pink. And torn between giggles and horror at this whole conversation.

"So maybe we can just leave that part behind?" That was totally the hope, here! And wasn't it crazy how that blush of his had worked its way down from his cheeks right over his shoulders, too? "And maybe talk about less voyeuristic things?"

Like the undressing part! In private!

He was now blushing even more.

She didn't need to be telepathic to guess what he was thinking.

Ino's blush wasn't fading, no.

"Anything you've got in mind?" she asked innocently.

That was a bit... well. It was a very Ino thing to do.

"What, off the top of my head?" Oh, the blushing wasn't going to go away any time soon, no. "I should probably note that if I have to play by tradition, it's not really fair that I'm the only one."

"You're right," she said, still pink but now there was something she could do! That wasn't--wasn't what she kept winding up with in her thoughts.

Curse him. This was all Zack's fault.

... Somehow.

"I suppose I ought to fix that, hm?" And she was just going to oh so slowly start inching her shirt up. Yep.

Blinking. Blinking and staring. And then holding out his arms to take his armor back, possible to better facilitate Ino undressing in public.

Oh, Zack.

"I- uh! If you want to, of course!"

Yeah. He was so not looking away.

See, she had a bikini top on underneath so this wasn't nearly as thrilling for her as Zack seemed to find it--though he was a darling for letting her hand over his armour that had been a bit complicated and Ino hadn't been sure how she'd have managed to get her arms over her head.

Which she was going to do now that her hands were free, slinking out of her tank top and raising an eyebrow at him. "Yes?"

Pink! Her top was pink, and Zack totally approved!

And he was going to show her his approval by smiling up at her face now. Because faces were good! Hi, face!

"Yeah," he agreed. "Just like that!"

Oh, hush. He could totally pretend that he hadn't been expecting something else under that shirt.

And she was just going to laugh.

"You've got a dirty mind," Ino teased.

... Her wardrobe might've been getting more pink in it lately because Zack approved. Ino liked the smiles she got out of it.

"If you were to try to tell people that," he laughed, "they totally wouldn't believe you."

Because... Zack was really, really prone to flailing. Like a very flaily thing.

"Mmmm." Ino tapped one finger against her cheek. "I think I know your thought processes a bit better than a lot of people."

Because he flailed but he still stared.

"And maybe a little bit about how you clearly got dressed this morning, thinking about undressing later on," Zack confessed. "And now I'm wondering if you're wearing the bottom to match."

He was so doomed.
