Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

The weather was still lovely, of course. And there were all these neat tables of ~~moddable~~ snackies to help break those awkward silences that were so common with teenage get-togethers.

So... yeah.

"I didn't mean to bring them up," she said, almost penitent. And pink. And torn between giggles and horror at this whole conversation.

"So maybe we can just leave that part behind?" That was totally the hope, here! And wasn't it crazy how that blush of his had worked its way down from his cheeks right over his shoulders, too? "And maybe talk about less voyeuristic things?"

Like the undressing part! In private!

He was now blushing even more.

She didn't need to be telepathic to guess what he was thinking.

Ino's blush wasn't fading, no.

"Anything you've got in mind?" she asked innocently.

That was a bit... well. It was a very Ino thing to do.

"What, off the top of my head?" Oh, the blushing wasn't going to go away any time soon, no. "I should probably note that if I have to play by tradition, it's not really fair that I'm the only one."

Just... putting that out there.

"You're right," she said, still pink but now there was something she could do! That wasn't--wasn't what she kept winding up with in her thoughts.

Curse him. This was all Zack's fault.

... Somehow.

"I suppose I ought to fix that, hm?" And she was just going to oh so slowly start inching her shirt up. Yep.

Blinking. Blinking and staring. And then holding out his arms to take his armor back, possible to better facilitate Ino undressing in public.

Oh, Zack.

"I- uh! If you want to, of course!"

Yeah. He was so not looking away.

See, she had a bikini top on underneath so this wasn't nearly as thrilling for her as Zack seemed to find it--though he was a darling for letting her hand over his armour that had been a bit complicated and Ino hadn't been sure how she'd have managed to get her arms over her head.

Which she was going to do now that her hands were free, slinking out of her tank top and raising an eyebrow at him. "Yes?"

Pink! Her top was pink, and Zack totally approved!

And he was going to show her his approval by smiling up at her face now. Because faces were good! Hi, face!

"Yeah," he agreed. "Just like that!"

Oh, hush. He could totally pretend that he hadn't been expecting something else under that shirt.

And she was just going to laugh.

"You've got a dirty mind," Ino teased.

... Her wardrobe might've been getting more pink in it lately because Zack approved. Ino liked the smiles she got out of it.

"If you were to try to tell people that," he laughed, "they totally wouldn't believe you."

Because... Zack was really, really prone to flailing. Like a very flaily thing.

"Mmmm." Ino tapped one finger against her cheek. "I think I know your thought processes a bit better than a lot of people."

Because he flailed but he still stared.

Aw, come on! Who out there wouldn't stare, right?

"So, what am I thinking about right now, then?"

"Me," she said shamelessly, "and something a bit different than a bikini top."

"And maybe a little bit about how you clearly got dressed this morning, thinking about undressing later on," Zack confessed. "And now I'm wondering if you're wearing the bottom to match."

He was so doomed.

"Tradition," she reminded him, and looked down at her jeans. "And wouldn't you like to know."

Ino had, yes. Buuut... this was more fun.

Oh, he so, so would. But. Then again.

"Maybe," he replied, because maybes were more fun than certainties in situations like this, hands-down. "But then I'd probably have to get you to show me in private, huh?"

Away from all possibility of voyeurism!

"Only maybe?" she asked archly. "I don't know that you could convince me to show you in private with a maybe."

"Maybe not just maybe," Zack grinned. "And maybe now I'm wondering if this means you want me to beg."

He was a total puppy. Begging, he could do.

"Sayin' yes to that pushes us back into worry about voyeurs," she noted. "You could kiss me, though. That might help."

"That," Zack decided as he leaned forward a little, "sounds like a much safer plan."

And anyhow, he'd take any excuse to kiss Ino. Like, ever.

"I laugh at safe," she said, quite happy with kisses. Mmmmm kisses. He could keep giving her some, yes?

"Okay," Zack said, between one kiss and the next, sneaking a hand around her middle. There was something that was kind of really awesome about kissing Ino in a state of shirtlessness. Awesome enough that the gear that he'd peeled off was going to be deposited onto the ground in a clattering heap. "So, what's less safe? But just as fun," pause for more kissing, "as this?"

To be quite honest, Ino was more focused on the kisses and the feel of his skin and how he had better keep kissing her than anything else at the moment.

Clearly the best way to convince people they weren't dating. Make out in public. Mmm. Her arms snaked up around his neck, pressing her body against him, and feet careful of the things he'd dropped to the ground.

"I can't think of anything," she confessed, then kissed him again. Absolutely determined to make it so he couldn't think as well.

"Thenthisisgood."

Thinking was gooone now. It was just Zack and Ino and a whole bunch of people-sounding background noise and snuggles.

Oh yeah. They totally weren't dating. They were just making out in the middle of a crowd, shirtless.

Totally different.

Totally different.

Absolutely different and any one would dared argue would get a very cranky ninja on their case.

"Hi," she said breathlessly, after a nice long period of nothing but kisses and clinging and making out in the... middle of the picnic.
