Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

The weather was still lovely, of course. And there were all these neat tables of moddable snackies to help break those awkward silences that were so common with teenage get-togethers.

So... yeah.

Bobby was a growing boy, which is why he had a plate heaped rather generously with snacks in hand as he did that mingling thing.

"Hey Bobby," Kyle said, moving to stand next to him so he could watch the crowd. "What's going on?" For once, it was a general question rather than the standard 'I don't understand what's going on' question Bobby usually had to field.

"Keeping an eye out for interesting people, mostly," Bobby said. And privately wondering if anyone he knew or knew him would show up this time. It seemed to be a fairly regular thing.

"Thor's a Viking," Bobby offered. No, Bobby, Thor is a Norse god. Bit of a difference there. "Did he have a helmet with horns on it?"

Oh, so he'd met two Vikings. Kyle was learning plenty today. "No helmet. He was kind of scrawny," which was rich coming from Kyle, "but he said he was a Viking. Do Vikings usually have horned helmets?"

"Usually," Bobby nodded. Most of what he knew about Vikings came from cartoons or comic books. Anyone else might consider the source before passing on such information, but as far as Bobby was concerned they were completely valid. "I'm not sure why. Like, whether it actually helps when they're fighting or if it's just to look cool."
