BWI Airport, Portalocity Lounge, Saturday Morning

So everyone else had, like, dramatic backstories and reasons to show up here and stuff. Which was fine, you know, if you were emotionally in the zone enough to go to those kinda lengths. Denise had just been, you know, chilling with her dad last night watching some hockey guys really pound in on each other - no, seriously, really get into it. One of them broke a rib or something, which was kinda cool.

Then she'd been dropped off at the airport, gotten a ticket stuffed into her hands, and that was that. No reason to get all dramatic and touchy-feely about it.

And now it was Saturday morning and she was on the airport. Sitting around. Chugging water and listening to her discman while watching the kids down the hall, trying to figure out how they were gonna croak. Sure, there was some kind of shuttle supposed to show up, but it wasn't there yet. A girl had to keep herself busy.

She figured the dweebs starting to mill around the terminal were probably classmates or something. Lame.

Anakin was not without hope of rock-paper-scissoring his way to driving like a bat out of hell the way home.

His cloak whirled around him as he glanced at the students and prayed silently not to recognize any faces.

"You feel weird." When the anthropomorphic representation of insanity did that kind of statement, there was definitely something going on.

"...Are you one of, um...mine?"

Anakin's mental shielding went up even higher than usual. "Doubtful," he replied. "Who are you?"

Squall gave Anakin an approving look.

"Probably not," Anakin admitted. "I'm Master Skywalker. I teach at the school."

He decided that "I used to be your teaching buddy" seemed odd as an introduction.

Dandelion seemed transfixed with it. And then the hair. Which now Dandelion was transfixed by.

Oooo! Look! The cloak! It was swirly whirly!

"Can I touch your hair?" she asked looking close at Anakin.

To be fair, Christian had no idea his was one of the faces Anakin might not want to see. He smiled blandly, and a bit nervously, at Anakin. "So you're in charge of getting us off to school?"

Anakin's heart stopped for just a second.

The Force-sense wasn't the same, but the face. "I am," he said after three attempts to get words to come out.

Christian looked concerned, unable to read the reaction. "I just wanted to see how long the trip would take. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bother you."

Aw, the swirly cloak was making Tim a little homesick. "Are you with the school, too?" he asked.

"Tim Drake," Tim said. He lowered his voice and gave a quick glance at the Vice-Principal. "Uh, he's not dangerous, is he?"

"Excuse me, sir?" Even storming over because some clown in a red suit was messing with her would not rob Scully of her drilled-in professionalism. Uh. Politeness. Although that cloak did give her momentary pause. "Dana Scully, sir. I have a question."

"He's not actively homicidal at this time," Anakin said, nodding his head toward Deadpool. "No, they're not pajamas, but yes, he's probably screwing with you. Did that help at all?"

Blink. Blink. "...to a certain extent, yes. I take it this is a common reaction to Mr.-- I didn't even get his name," Scully realized, chagrined. "So he is not, in fact, the vice principal?"

Rinoa noticed the man and offered him a quick bow.

"Sir?" she asked. "Are you in charge, here?"

She was assuming it wasn't the guy in the pajamas. Hoping, really.

She flashed him a quick smile. "Oh! It wasn't anything serious. I was just ..."

She darted a look over at Deadpool and then back. "Curious about the faculty here."

He seemed sane. The other guy didn't. Either he was stealth-crazy, or they had an odd mix for teachers.
