Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2010, Saturday Early Evening

The sun had just finished setting as guests started to be let onto the lawn. There were chairs set up for friends and family, separated by an aisle that led to another set of chairs set closer to the stage for the soon-to-be-graduates. The air was still pleasantly warm, and the sky was still almost bright, although extra lights had been set up to make sure everyone could see the festivities. Having learned from previous years, there were no garish decorations or potential weapons in sight - just a simple, tasteful setup for the Class of 2010.

Dimitri shook his head, tapping the button on his own unit. "I assume you have a visual."

A beat. "And not just of the beautiful people." You never could tell when it came to Fandom.

"You're difficult to miss," Yuri tossed back quickly with a crackle of static. "I think everyone has that visual."

Part of what helped retain Dimitri's guardian mask in times like these was that there was really no one around to see the look on his face anyhow. "So long as you do, we're set."

It was not a surprise to Yuri that the younger guardian was a conversation killer. You didn't earn seven marks for being happy-go-lucky.

Yuri didn't bother him for a while, instead enjoying his job for a while as he kept an eye out for suspicious persons...like the kid who just teleported from one side of the stands into his seat.

"Belikov, you weren't kidding about the weird magic. Should I be concerned by the student population?"

From where he was situated with Lissa, Dimitri hadn't spotted that exact magic use, but he was fairly certain the only student threat he knew of was likely to be on good behavior.

Not that he would trust the kid up close with Lissa.

"As I said in my report, they're mostly harmless when unfocused on us. Just stay vigilant, Fialkovskii." Which was code for shh.

Right, the report that had taken both flights and the car ride to the airport to get through. That report.

"And the big guy?" Oh yeah, like that kid wasn't getting marked the second he arrived.

Good on Yuri to latch onto that one. "He won't make trouble." They had an understanding from when the creatures were attacking.

"Belikov out." Really, he would like the headset to quit chirping in his ear.

Yes, Yuri heard the finality of Dimitri's tone. No, this wasn't going to stop him from talking. He simply might wait a few minutes before making another comment and interrupting the other guardian's self imposed silence.

Meanwhile, there was a big guy to watch and a whole slew of weird-looking people assembled all around. Yuri could get used to this kind of busy.
