Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2010, Saturday Early Evening

The sun had just finished setting as guests started to be let onto the lawn. There were chairs set up for friends and family, separated by an aisle that led to another set of chairs set closer to the stage for the soon-to-be-graduates. The air was still pleasantly warm, and the sky was still almost bright, although extra lights had been set up to make sure everyone could see the festivities. Having learned from previous years, there were no garish decorations or potential weapons in sight - just a simple, tasteful setup for the Class of 2010.

Mat nodded, trying to ignore the sound of dice rattling in his head. "Well, at least we all look equally ridiculous." He glanced around. "Except for Chuck Bass, who seems to make this look good."

The word 'derisive' didn't even begin to describe the snort Katchoo let out at that comment. "Not really, no. Geez, can I get this thing off my head already? I could put someone's eye ou-- you know, that doesn't sound so bad . . ."

Mat took his hat back off and gazed at it appraisingly. "Hmmm. Good idea. Might liven things up if the speeches get too long..."

Katchoo reached up and poked experimentally at a corner of the mortarboard, then nodded. "If it gets too mind-numbingly boring, we can start a fight, how's that?"

"Sounds like a date," Mat said, putting his hat back on and offering her his arm. "Shall we?"

"Don't get any ideas," Katchoo warned him with a not-so-mild glare, "or I'll break your frikkin' arm."

Which she . . . wasn't actually taking, even though she made a move to start down the aisle.

Mat grinned and walked beside her. Ahh, Fandom girls.
