Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2010, Saturday Early Evening

The sun had just finished setting as guests started to be let onto the lawn. There were chairs set up for friends and family, separated by an aisle that led to another set of chairs set closer to the stage for the soon-to-be-graduates. The air was still pleasantly warm, and the sky was still almost bright, although extra lights had been set up to make sure everyone could see the festivities. Having learned from previous years, there were no garish decorations or potential weapons in sight - just a simple, tasteful setup for the Class of 2010.

"It also dates the furniture selling island," Ben added helpfully. "Hi, Aunt Leia."

"So if it decides to go out for the night we could find ourselves jumped to some new romantic location?" Leia said, grinning at Ben. "That'd be handy for you and Tahiri to know in advance."

Ben turned a lovely shade of red. "Shhhhh," he said, sliding down in his seat.

Making Ben blush was so easy and so much fun, but Leia did relent. For now. Well, relent for Ben. She glanced back to Luke. "Dean told me a strange story about you last night," she said, keeping her face straight. "I wasn't sure if I should believe him."

Luke had a bad feeling about this. "What story?" he asked warily.

"Grace?" Leia said, fighting back a grin.

Luke groaned. "She wasn't a toddler at the time!" he whined.

Leia couldn't help but laugh now. "I know, and you weren't yourself either," she said. "Don't worry, he told me embarrassing stories about our father, too."

Luke ignored Anakin's dark mutterings and laughed instead. "Well, this island doesn't catch us at our best," he admitted. "Have you been gremlin bit yet?"

"No," Leia said. "And I don't intend to let it happen, either." So optimistic she was.

"I won't be around to save you next time," he reminded her.

"I would have figured something out," Leia insisted. "I've had to deal with hostile alien races before, after all."

Luke snickered. "You're going to try to negotiate with them?"

"It's what I've been trained to do," Leia pointed out. "I'm a diplomat."

"Get holofootage," he said with a laugh. "Or maybe I'll ask Dean to..."

"He's staying on the island to teach this summer," Leia said. "I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot of each other." Yes, she made sure she said that loudly enough for her father to hear.

"You will?"

"We had a lot of fun last night," Leia said. No, she wasn't thinking any serious thoughts about Dean, but it was amusing making her father believe she was.

Luke poked her, eyes sparkling. "Be nice," he murmured.

"I am being nice," Leia said, nudging him back with her elbow. "If I was being mean I'd go into detail."
