Ethics [Tuesday, March 30, 2nd period]

"You've had a week with your droid babies," Anakin said. "I trust that you've all learned valuable lessons about restraint in the face of lust, or at least the value of good birth control." He gave Bruce a long look. "As well as why babies' heads should stay fully attached." His attention shifted to Illyria. "And how we don't eat them on this planet. Now we'll move on to the last of the seven major sins: sloth. Originally, sloth was described as 'an uneasiness of the mind'," he continued. "Apathy. Melancholy. Joylessness. And importantly, the decision not to do anything about it."

He shrugged. "The modern view understands that the mind is slightly more complicated than that and sometimes it is impossible to will yourself not to be sad. Instead, this sin focuses on the failure to utilize your talents and gifts."

He made eye contact with each student. "In a place filled with as many talented people as this one, I can view it as almost criminal to not live up to the potential each of you has. Today, pair up and talk about what your plans for the future are, and how what you will be doing either over the summer or after graduation will be helping you in what you might think of as your greater destiny."

He rolled his eyes. "You may also use this time to complain about what a horrible person I was to saddle you with fake children for a period of weeks, if you insist upon it."

Dan was struggling not to sleep. Struggling...so...much.

Okay, he was asleep.

You left him with twins all week, Anakin.

Arthur wasn't going to try to take a nap. He was going to sit here, possibly take some notes, and try very hard to ignore the bandage attached to his head.

Effy was not napping, as tempting as that was after the week she'd had. But at the same time, she wasn't really paying that much attention to Anakin and whatever he was talking about. Off in her own world, for the time being.

Bod hadn't had much trouble with his droid baby but he also hadn't done anything more than sit and watch it when he had it. He just hadn't wanted to do something wrong.

Claire was actually pretty well recovered from the events of the weekend. And since Natalie had been a good sleeper, she wasn't worn out from that either.

A week with that wailing demonic Lemur? Yeah, screw this, Griff was taking a nap.

Jacob was good on naps, mostly because he slept for the big part of Monday and honestly, even a droid baby wasn't waking him in spite of his werewolf hearing. He just outsnored it.

"I am from this planet," Illyria felt the need to point out, though not with any especial rancor, and she did wait until he'd finished speaking. "I simply predate your species."

Zack was listening! Listening, and bouncing in his seat!

GODZILLA. He totally went up against a giant dinosaur! Which was awesome, okay.

Leia knew what her plans were; she just needed someone to discuss them with.

"Well, let's hear it," Arthur said.

He wasn't in a particularly charitable mood, but it was possible - possible - that this one would annoy him less than the others.

He was definitely not touching the idea of talking to Illyria with a ten-foot pole.

So charming, Arthur!

"I'm going to represent Alderaan in the Imperial Senate," Leia said, conviction in her eyes, "and work to return peace and justice to the galaxy by restoring the Republic and exposing Emperor Palpatine for the tyrant he is."

Simple, really.

Plans? Really, Effy didn't have any, beyond 'probably getting drunk later'. But she was here, and if anyone wanted to discuss her lack of plans (or their own immaculately organized future), they were welcome to try.

Claire wasn't sure if she wanted to tell the truth about her immediate plans to anyone; what with everything going on, she hadn't had much of a chance to work on them.

But she looked for a partner.

Hello to you all, too, from the pissy, cranky, sleep-deprived TA. Be surprised he never stuffed the droid in the closet so he could get some peace. Stupid ethics.

Sorry for pinging in late. Work murdered me and dumped the body in the river yesterday.
