"I think you've all had your fair share of horror last week," Mitchell announced, "But I'm fairly sure half your teachers are going to give you movie classes now, so I thought I'd try and get creative."

Fear, class. Fear.

"That's why we've gathered in the Danger Shop today," he continued. "I thought it would be nice for some hands-on practice. See, we've got all of these fears we're working on and working with, but many of them, as I've said, come down to what we fear in ourselves."

A pause.

"These things tend to start in childhood," he said, "And work their way up. So today, we are going to be regressing."

He opened the door behind him and revealed--

"Today, you're going to Eurodisney!" A pause. "I'll be expecting at least two of you to get into a fight," he said, solemnly. "If you do, use something padded."

A beat, in case they thought he'd completely lost it-- "If you need me this week, I'll be spending most of it in Bristol. So use the phone."

And that would appear to be it.

Alex wasn't going to bother with the rides for the time being. Instead, he grabbed a drink, found some shade, slid his sunglasses on and decided he'd just relax for a bit.

Maybe now that the fog was gone, he'd sleep a little better. Or maybe he wouldn't. As it was, he hadn't gotten much since Tuesday but wasn't letting it show. He wasn't some wimp.

"I think this is the scariest class so far," Jack ventured.

He wasn't checking up on Alex. Exactly. But it seemed like a reasonable time to say hello.

"Don't like amusement parks, Jack?" Alex asked, peering up at the other boy from behind his sunglasses. "Thought you'd be proud to be tall enough to ride the rides."

Jack snorted. "Quite. It makes me want to burst into one of these annoyingly catchy songs."

"See, now that would make my day," Alex said and then gestured to the spot of bench beside him. "Only thing that would make it better is if he were in one of these weird ass costumes."

"Get one of the girls to sing, if you're so keen on it," Jack said amiably enough, taking the seat.

... because Effy and Emma would burst into song any day now. Right.

"And now I have Mitchell dressed in that mouse outfit in my head and I can't un-see it. Thank you, Alex."

"Always happy to be of assistance," Alex said, shrugging. "I think you'd be the one that could get Emma to dance. Make puppy eyes at her or something. Tell her I'm hungover and need a pick me up."

Jack's eyes shot over to Emma. "She does love to show off sometimes ..." he mused. "Do you really want me to try?"

"I dare you," Alex said, nodding. "If she does it, I'll...something. Something to be decided later."

"Why do I always take your dares?" Jack wondered.

But it was something to do other than wonder if the people in costumes were going to eat him, so -- "On my way."

"Because I'm so convincing," Alex said, smirking as he leaned back to see if Jack would be successful.

Emma, it should be stated for the record, was often a brat.

Which is why she practically skipped over to him and launched into a loud (and deliberately off-key) rendition of the first verse of 'You Are My Sunshine'.

"Jack said that if I sang for you, you'd take me on the Peter Pan ride," she lied cheerfully as she took her bow. "I hope you plan to uphold your promise, or I might be tempted to sing again."

"And none of us wants that."

Alex, too busy laughing at the horribly awful song, didn't immediately catch what she'd said. When it eventually dawned on him, he eyed her and then Jack.

"And what if I do want you to sing again?" he asked, covering up his momentary surprise at being conned.

"You can bribe me with an ice cream," she suggested. "I am usually quite amenable to bribery of some sort."

Why yes, Emma did plan to get as much out of this as she possibly could. She had no problems playing the boys off each other in an effort to get as spoiled as possible.

"Either way, that means I'd have to move, wouldn't it?" he wondered, frowning at that. "You'd make me leave my comfy spot, Emma?"

"You could get me a double-scoop at Chilly Boulder later, so that you don't have to move now," Emma sighed. "Or you can make a counter offer of your own... Don't make me do all the thinking, darling. I might hurt my head again, and then I'll have to pout at you."

"Aww, you wanna set up an ice cream date, Emma?" he asked, teasing. "I'm almost certain I could pull myself out of my room to take you out for ice cream."

"Yes, exactly," she said, fluttering her eyelashes at him. "Won't you, Alex? Won't you please go on an ice cream date with me?"

"Well, not right now," he said, snickering, "but yeah, why not? I bet I can make room on my crowded schedule for you."

"Fantastic," she said, settling herself beside him. "Now, did you really want another song, or were you just wanting to get out of going on the rides?"

"I'm not really in a ride mood," Alex said, shrugging and peering back out at the park. "Not really in an anything mood so yeah, if you wanna sing, it might help."

"I will make you act out the lyrics to 'I'm a Little Teapot' with me, I swear I will," she threatened as she made herself comfortable. "Except that I'm feeling horribly lazy."

She gave him a sideways half-smirk before singing again, "Twinkle, twinkle, little star! How I wonder what you are..."

Still off-key, of course.

"How I wonder what you are," Alex joined in after a few minutes. Grudgingly, of course, but he still joined in.
