Today Anakin's desk was covered with droid babies in bassinets. Each baby had a tiny stuffed Ewok tucked next to it. Hush.

"Today we talk about lust," Anakin said, pulling his attention back from the wall he'd been staring at, trying to get a handle on a bad feeling he'd been having since stepping foot on the island yesterday. "Or rather, the unintended consequences that can happen when you take action without precautions."

He smiled. Evilly. Some of his lesson plans might have changed this semester, but he had been looking forward to the droid babies with something close to unholy glee this go-around. "Meet your little projects for the next week. They're heavy, they cry, and they will record everything you do with them. So if you stuff them into a closet for the duration, believe me, I'll know."

After all, he'd built all of them.

He reached for a list of paper. "I've paired you up together." His smile turned a little more evil. "And some of your babies are a little fussier than others."

Okay, at least they got a girl. Claire was now considering going shopping for cute little outfits.

Maybe even a wee baby cheerleading outfit.

"So, what should we call her?" she asked her partner.

Andy picked up the stuffed ewok and made it dance for the baby. "I'm not very good with names. Do you have any ideas?"

Claire was grateful to have a partner who didn't seem freaked out by the assignment.

"Hmmm, um..." she considered her options and then suggested, "maybe Natalie? After my dad, Nathan?"

"Sure," Andy said easily. "That's a cool name."

"Cool. So how do we wanna split up babysitting duties?" Claire asked.

"I'm easy," Andy said. "This is the only day I have classes. And I just have radio Monday nights."

"Tomorrow's my busy day," Claire said. "So do you think you could take her after class until tomorrow night? And then we can just switch every day."

"Sure, I can do that. Maybe I can get Sam to help -- he's got a baby sister so he knows about this kinda thing."

Claire laughed at the mental image she got of Sam's reaction to Andy asking him to help babysit their baby.

"I bet he would be good help, yeah."

"I don't think it's entirely fair that she's a robot though," Andy admitted. "I mean if we did...uh... get a baby, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be a robot."

"Well, um..." Claire turned a little pink at that because it wasn't like they were ever gonna have a baby. That would just be weird. "I dunno. I don't think I'd want to take care of a real baby. That would be scary."

"It would be easier than with a robot," Andy said. For him at least.

Claire had no idea what he meant by that. "Yeah but if we messed up we could hurt someone's kid."
