Sam was more than a little energetic in the library today, and he hadn't even had any coffee this morning. With no further news on Peter, he was starting to worry that Isabel had been tricked in her dreamwalking, that Peter really wasn't alive out there somewhere, and in order to keep his mind off of that train of thought, he threw himself into work. He cleaned the main desk, put returned books back in their proper places, rearranged a set of shelves, cleaned the main desk again, and worked on memorizing his lines from the play. It wasn't enough to stay constantly distracted, but Sam was getting as close as he could.

"It seems to like to do that," Henry observed. "I got lucky. Didn't get sick at all."

He started slotting books back onto the shelves. "I'm glad you're feeling better."

"You definitely lucked out," Sam said. "Have you gotten a little more used to the island? I know sometimes invasions help. Not that they're good, but they get people used to things."

"I think I've decided I'm never going to get used to it," Henry said. "Does that count? Gremlins ... gave me a fright, nothing worse."

Except sending him into a bout of time travel, but he was still leery about dropping that into conversations.

"Of course, if I say the island won't surprise me, it'll go out of its way to do just that, right?"

"Yeah, you might wake up with spots of your own," Sam said, laughing softly. "I think it's totally valid to never get used to it. I mean, there's still some stuff I can't get used to, like people who look like my brother."

"Everyone always said I looked like my mother," Henry shared. "Which isn't the kind of thing you're talking about, is it?"

"No, I'm talking about like, identical twins," Sam said. "So far, I've met two people who look like my brother, and one person who looks like me. It's one of the few things that still disturbs me, and I always end up looking out for lookalikes at the picnics for the new people."

"That would be" -- Henry frowned, weighing his words -- "extremely disorienting. They're totally different people other than looks?"

"Very, very different," Sam said. "Have you ever seen Priestly? He's a student, works at the diner, generally goes around with a mohawk? If you took the mohawk away, that'd be my brother, and you'd definitely need to because he is not the funky-haired type. It makes it kind of fun for people to play pranks, but it's still weird."

"I've noticed him," Henry said. "He looks like nobody told him punk ended. I approve. Your brother's not the type, huh?"

"No, he's the kind of guy who refuses to believe that classic rock ended," Sam said with a laugh.

"I never got the appeal," Henry said truthfully. "I do punk and classical and that's ... most of it. What about you? What music do you like?"

"Mostly modern stuff," Sam said. "Most people call it emo music, but it's not all sad. It's just...thoughtful."
