When the Ethics class arrived in the Danger Shop, they stepped into an entirely different world: An incredibly dry, hot one that smelled really bad.

Anakin waved his hand around the room. "Welcome to the embodiment of gluttony," he said, "the palace of a Hutt."

He concentrated on the controls on the far side of the room, and the simulation sprung to life: dozens of beings drinking, eating, and dancing, with all activity centered around a vile slug of a beast laying on the raised dais (not that it really had many other options for range of motion) at the front of the room.

"That," Anakin said, nose wrinkling in disgust as he pointed, "is a Hutt. This particular version is named Jabba, and is one of the most powerful crime lords in the galaxy." Or was, but he wouldn't exactly be mentioned what happened to Jabba in a class with Leia in it. "Today is an interactive experience for you, class. Take a good hard look around. See the effects that gluttony can have."

His eyes went flat. "Touch any of the dancing girls and you'll regret it. And try not to get addicted to any of the drugs those aliens--" he jerked his thumb toward the bar "--are pushing."

Anakin nodded. "Definitely not an ideal thing to happen."

Behold, he could be diplomatic!

"Then what?"

"That would depend on what I was trying to accomplish," Leia pointed out. "I'd hardly be sneaking in here for a good time."

"Since you have much more sense that that," Anakin said, making a face. "Say it was a rescue operation."

You know, hypothetically.

"I'd've sent people ahead to scout out where the person was held and what kind of security was in place," Leia said. "And then wait until the Hutt and his friends are all in a drug-induced stupor, which seems very likely to happen on a regular basis." She wrinkled her nose in disgust.

"And then what?" Anakin asked.

"Rescue the person I came for and get out before they wake up," Leia said. "Somehow I doubt it would be that simple, but that would be the basic plan."

Anakin smiled and nodded. "How would you get a weapon into the palace?"

"The bounty hunters are armed," Leia noted. She'd be the teeniest bounty hunter in the galaxy!

Anakin bit back an amused grin at his mental image. "That could work," he said instead. Good."

"I'm certainly not going to disguise myself as a dancing girl," Leia said. "No place to hide a weapon, for one."

"I'd rather the males in this room look at you like they look at the dancers, for another," Anakin added.

"I'd rather not have a bunch of drunken slavers and smugglers ogling and pawing at me," Leia agreed. But she had to add, "High school boys are a different matter."

Anakin shot her a look. "Not much different."

Leia grinned. "Different enough," she said. "I wouldn't date a slaver."

"Glad to know you have some standards," Anakin grumbled, but his tone was good-natured.
