Study Hall | Friday

It was Friday again, but this week Ronon was pleased to see there were no tiny creatures to steal his lunch, follow him home, replicate a few dozen times, and turn into destructive beasts in the middle of the night.

Made for a busy weekend.

Ronon was making use of his study hall time to check out a five-hour documentary he'd been given for Christmas. Someone on his team was cruel.

"Oh, trust me, I know that," said Jaina. "So there are other people from your team here?"

And once again she realized maybe she wasn't so dissimilar from Leia because if so, she wanted to shake those people down but only for certain pieces of info.

"Not anymore," he said with an almost sad shake of his head. "Whole group was here for a couple sessions." Not that any of them knew the connection.

"Who?" she asked automatically, realizing immediately that he might not be able to tell her.

"You know Sheppard," he teased, "and Teyla and McKay were in your class." Oh the long-ago survival class, how he didn't miss young McKay.

Jaina frowned. "The physics geek?" Yes, that was how she knew McKay.

"That's the one," Ronon nodded. Yes, their team really was that strange of a grouping.

"And Tail-a," she remembered, as that name finally clicked. "Was it just a coincidence...?"

"What? Them all here with me?" More like torment.

"Yeah. I guess I'm just used to everyone being from different times and places in the timelines..." Which, she realized, didn't mean that everyone wasn't from different realities.

"They weren't from my...timeline or whatever. My team's back in the city, doing the family thing."

"The family thing?" Yes, she'd met his John. Didn't mean there wasn't some immediate wariness there at that phrasing, shut up.

"Yeah, with the kid," he said, wondering what got caught in her skirt just then.

"Right. ...All of them?" Close team.

Ronon may have looked at her oddly, as if there was something else Sheppard would be doing besides leaning in doorways around the city, threatening Todd, or hanging out with Torren. Sure, McKay was doing Keller, but that couldn't last for more than ten minutes a day. "Not much else going on."

"Still, when you start bringing up words like 'family,' that'd say you're close," Jaina pointed out. Okay this didn't help with the jealousy of missing out on whatever John was doing, but she'd get over it. "Why aren't you there with them?"

"San Francisco's not my scene," he shrugged. Besides, he had a lady friend. "There's more stuff to shoot here."

"Gotta have priorities," she said, totally without judgment. "Have I asked why San Francisco?" She'd liked San Francisco, mind you.

Ronon shrugged, it had been more Carson's deal than anyone else. "Just where we landed."

"So you just touched down there and that was that? It's all over?" She was also thinking they'd just landed a ship, though.

"Hey, I'm not the tech guy," Ronon replied, hands up. "I just go where they tell me." And die, but get brought back to life!

Now she was thinking. "So is John still military in your world? If he's just hanging around there..." Because that might get her a little hopeful.

"Sure. Might say he manages both pretty well," Ronon answered with a smile.

Hmm. "So he's doing good there?" Apparently she still worried about an alternate universe John, who even knew.

"He's Sheppard," Ronon replied as if that was an answer. "Why're you so worried about it?"

"He's John. Apparently I worry how every version of him is doing," she shrugged.
