Modeling for Dummies, Thursday 1/14/10

When class filed on into the room today, there was a massive pile of fabric, construction paper, glitter and glue waiting for them. It was a challenge day, apparently.

"So, class. Today we're gonna start in the deep end of fashion tomfoolery. That's right, we're talkin' 'bout couture." No, there were no hand outs on it. There was a link. Hello.

"If you're still a lil' bit confused as to what looks all couture, I'd say... pretty much anything Lady Gaga wore is an attempt at it. Except the unitards. Bitch is crazy for unitards. I mean, I met her once and she sang me an awesome song, but we didn't sit around and chat about her fashion. Mostly because I still have my manhood and was a vampire at the time."

A beat.

"Not a sparkly one."

That was an important addition, you guys.

"Today, you all are gonna make up your own batshit design so next week you can do a little turn on the catwalk in it. Shake your little tush on the catwalk, yeah," He continued seriously. "So get your asses in gear and make me something Lady Gaga would be apeshit to wear."

This...was not Hannibal's specialty. He tended to be a t-shirt and jeans type of guy so making something that resemble the mess a vomiting glitter monster would make was challenging.

Sure, he'd try but this was going to be bad, he could see it now.

Yeah, Tara wasn't going to wear anything remotely Lady Gaga-like, thanks. She liked pants. And skirts. And anything where her knees were covered.

Eventually she pieced together a black and white outfit with slits in the sleeves and an image of face on the skirt. The expression on the face was not too far off from that on Tara's.

She felt like Kennedy-the-hedgehog was laughing at her.

Hayley was working with some black shiny fabric. Not a lot of it, mind. And her sewing skills weren't that great. She might end up enlisting Harper to help her finish it.

But she definitely had an idea (http://i40.tinypic.com/241nz28.jpg).

...yeah, Sam would just be over here looking at the materials like they were a thousand piece jigsaw puzzle. Maybe if he stared long enough, an idea of what to put together would come to him.

Claire wasn't laughing at Sam. Honest.

Oh look, a class assignment that Chuck could actually do. Try not to die of shock.

And luckily for everyone, he had no problem wearing glittery stuff. He made it look good.

Yeah, Angela wouldn't want to wear anything like Lady Gaga. But when it came to experimenting and making her own style, she could do that.

Plus, excuse to play with glitter? Check.

Priestly had absolutely no plan, and an advantage of being male and thus having slightly less body surface area that had to be covered for public decency laws. He was over here, essentially just sticking stuff on in different spots wherever his fancy took him.

The end result might end up looking a bit like a glittery kilt that was was slowly trying to eat the wearer's upper body.

Warren had no idea what in the world he was going to end up with while working on his outfit. But he had a vague notion that whatever it was, it was going to have to involve a lot of feathers.

No reason.

... There was a lot of hot glue involved.

Jenny grabbed some white fabric and tried to remember any of her sewing instruction from finishing school 85 years ago.

...perhaps she could hold it together with safety pins.

Seriously?

Seriously??

"You know, so far nobody's done a great job at convincing me I'm not either high or in a coma," Emmett said gleefully as he set to work.

Triela could sew, it was a useful skill if you wanted to repair the bullet holes in your suits.

Triela had absolutely no desire to do... whatever it was Deadpool had called this travesty of good taste. So she sat there glaring angrily at the pile of materials, possibly trying to change them into something actually interesting with sheer force of will.

Oh, Clark remembered looks like Gaga wore and got to work covering some cardboard with fabric for a cone of shame.
