Ethics [Thursday, November 19, 1st period]

Today Anakin's desk was covered with droid babies in bassinets.

Each baby had a tiny stuffed Ewok tucked next to it. Shh.

"Today we talk about lust," Anakin said. "Or rather, the unintended consequences that can happen when you take action without precautions."

He smiled. "Meet your little projects for the next two weeks. They're heavy, they cry, and they will record everything you do with them. So if you stuff them into a closet for the duration, believe me, I'll know."

After all, he'd built all of them.

He reached for a list of paper. "Some of you I've paired together, some of you are single parents." His smile turned a little evil. "Some of your babies are a little fussier than others."

Katchoo was torn between utter horror and outright hysteria here.

On the one hand: WHAT THE HELL.

On the other? The look on Arthur's face was going to be priceless.

Morgana reached out to gently touch the "baby" like she was worried it would touch back. "This is not at all what I expected today," she said.

Katchoo looked like she wanted to hold the droid baby out at arm's length by her fingertips, or possibly get rid of it like it was a bomb.

"He's trying to kill us without actually doing it, isn't he?"

"I wish I could tell you that you're being paranoid, but I actually think you might be on to something," Morgana replied. "We'll get into trouble if it dies, won't we?"

"They're bugged," Katchoo said sourly. Geez. "If we breathe at it funny we'll probably get in trouble. You know the only thing that'll make this better? Making Arthur babysit."

Now that got a grin out of Morgana. "He'll have a fit," she said, sounding almost delighted by the prospect. "But he won't be able to say no either."

"That's the best part," Katchoo said, smugly. "That might almost make up for two weeks of this pain in the ass."

"Should we give it a name?" Morgana asked. It, her, same thing when it wasn't real.

"Y'know, last time I got unexpectedly stuck with a kid, it was named after you." Katchoo was just kind of throwing that out there. "Hell if I know how that happened."

Ah, swearing in front of the baby. Such a good influence already.

"Possibly," Katchoo said through clenched teeth and a thinking about this doesn't drive me to want to drink still, really rictus of a smile. "She wasn't creepy, though. This . . . this is beyond creepy."

It wasn't real. And it almost looked like it was but not quite and -- LOOK AT IT. GAH.

"It is quite disturbing. Perhaps a hat will hide her eyes enough to make her look better?" Morgana suggested. It wouldn't be like suffocating her or anything.
