Ethics [Thursday, November 19, 1st period]

Today Anakin's desk was covered with droid babies in bassinets.

Each baby had a tiny stuffed Ewok tucked next to it. Shh.

"Today we talk about lust," Anakin said. "Or rather, the unintended consequences that can happen when you take action without precautions."

He smiled. "Meet your little projects for the next two weeks. They're heavy, they cry, and they will record everything you do with them. So if you stuff them into a closet for the duration, believe me, I'll know."

After all, he'd built all of them.

He reached for a list of paper. "Some of you I've paired together, some of you are single parents." His smile turned a little evil. "Some of your babies are a little fussier than others."

Kyle reached down, picked up the baby and started rocking it gently. It was almost as if he'd done this before, or was good at picking up what he'd seen done before. He went to look at Emma.

"But what are we supposed to do with it?" She wasn't going to poke the baby, just... was tempted. "This isn't fair, my powers don't work on machines."

"Feed it, entertain it, keep it clean." At least they didn't have to keep it quiet to make sure it wouldn't attract a Terminator's attention. "If it cries, it means it wants something, because it can't speak to just ask us."

"But how do you know what it wants?" Emma was genuinely distressed at this idea. She'd spent the last two years living in people's heads; the idea of not knowing what someone wanted was unsettling.

Combined with the fact her own parents hadn't exactly been great role models, Emma was having visions of failing this assignment in spectacular ways.
