And that was that, then. No more Halloween decorations, no more eerie sounds playing in the background. No more plotting tricks to take the place of treats in Jonothon's absence of a lower jaw.

And reading to do, for class, because he had been entirely out of sorts on Monday and he had to read up on Buddhism to make up for the utter daze he'd been during Lady Ghanima's lecture.

At least he was in the proper place for it.

"I guess it was the next step up from the pink ones?" Bobby shrugged. "Who I think are sort of the mutants of the cow world." Which is totally why he had like twelve of them. Shut up. He could sympathise!

... Jono was going to learn how to use a computer. And then he was going to figure out the internet. And then he'd have to learn to navigate his way around Facebook's crappy new layout. And then he'd figure out Farmville. And then he would totally fall in love with the ugly ducklings.

And then after a few days, he would be very disappointed when they stopped being all ugly.

"They're pink because they give strawberry milk. Or maybe they give strawberry milk because they're pink. I'm not quite sure." He tilted his head at Jono speculatively. "I think you need a Facebook account," he decided.

Jono was now giving Bobby his best 'I still think you are insane' look. Apparently, he was very expressive this morning.

Please. Bobby got that look so often from various people he was practically immune to it. "Yes," he decided. And really, the 'not being able to turn on a computer' thing just clinched it. "You're in the 21st century now, Jono. Computers are important."

... Figuring out how to work menus on DVDs had been a triumph in its own right. Jono was quite content with his little victories over the new and shiny inventions of the last decade and a half.

My oh my, was that a little lost kitten showing up on Bobby's farm? Why yes, yes it was. What a coincidence! Bobby clicked the "Help Kitten" button and posted it to his wall. As for the not owning a computer... Bobby just gave Jono a smirk and a significant glance over to where the library computers were. "You work in a library, dude."

This would be interesting. Jono was very much a member of the 'I do not even understand how to use Google' club.

It was only because he didn't know Jono quite well enough yet that Bobby didn't physically drag him over to the computers area of the library. "All right," he said, flopping down in front of one of the computers. Facebook account. I'm guessing your school email's the only one you've got?" A reasonable guess, he felt, if Jono didn't even have a computer of his own.
