Ethics [Thursday, October 22, 1st period]

"Welcome to your midterm," Anakin said, pacing across the flight deck of a ship (Force, but he loved the Danger Room). Behind him, thousands of pricks of lights showed that a space battle had been paused for him to talk. "Today, you will get to be Jedi. Or try, anyway. Your mission," he said, striding over to a three-dimensional schematic of the ship, "is to rescue the Chancellor of the Republic, who has been kidnapped by a General Grievous, the leader of a Separatist movement. There's also another fearsome warrior aboard, a Lord of the Sith named Count Dooku. He is not to be underestimated. He took my arm off when I was 20."

He shrugged it off.

"Regardless. You will be paired up and rescue the Chancellor. Alive, please. Your mission is to defeat the Sith Lord if he gets in the way of your mission, get to the docking bay, steal a different ship and get the hell off of this one as quickly as possible."

He smiled humorlessly. "Because this one is going to crash into the surface of Coruscant in roughly thirty minutes. So don't be too surprised at sudden gravitational shifts."

He waved his hand towards the control panel. The students would now find themselves in brown robes and holding unlit lightsaber hilts. They would work like the real things, but only in the Danger Room.

Their reflexes, regrettably, were what they had come in with.

"Try not to die," Anakin said, "and for the love of the Force, don't do stupid things with your lightsabers like try to skewer your classmates or write your name in the floor."

He then rattled off the partners:

Tara stood near a wall, surveying the scene as she waited for McCoy.

She kind of wondered if they'd been paired based on surname similarity.

"These clothes don't seem very practical," Bones noted after he made his way to Tara. "Seems like they'd be easy to trip over."

Yes, because those Starfleet uniforms the women wore were so practical, Bones.

Brown was so not Raven's color. And she was so not using the lightsaber. It was going to stay firmly attached to her belt.

She was, however, waiting for Maron.

And was secretly wondering if she could get one of her own somehow.

"Ooo, hey, look. Just like the one Tiny Creepy Kid has," Katchoo remarked, fiddling around with the lightsaber. "God, I don't wanna be her."

And this is where we all thank the Force or the gods or whoever that Katina Choovanski was not, in fact, Force-sensitive, because if she were, you might as well give the girl a red lightsaber and start calling her Darth Chewie ahahaha right frikkin' now.

This was gonna be interesting.

Parker didn't really think much of the robes, but the saber was kinda neat. She turned it on and off a few times as she waited for her partner.

The clothing Jonas found himself in was nearly forgotten due to the lightsaber he was holding in his hand. It was lightweight and small, almost looking like a metal bottle. He hefted it, testing its weight but still couldn't quite wrap his head around it.

He wasn't a fighter, nowhere near, so he hoped his partner (and he couldn't recall meeting a Rose before) was somewhat better. He had no shame on letting her do all the work if she was the more talented one.

The robes were a little more bland than Morgana was used to, and even less practical than her usual clothes, but she forgot about all of that the moment she turned her lightsaber on. Ooooh glowy!

Karla felt like hell, but was amused by the class anyway. She wondered if anyone would mind taking her picture while she waited for Angela--she wanted proof to show Ben that she had been a Jedi for the day.

Kyle's first order of action was to arrange his robes so that the sleeves were tighter and out of the way. It looked stupid, yes. Then he looked around for Azula.

Raven and Maron were stealthy like stealthy things that...stealthed. Somehow the Most Timid Jedi Ever managed to figure out where the Chancellor was being held and make it there safely. There was minimal ledge-hanging. They weren't James T. Kirk, after all.

The room in which they found the Chancellor seemed to be empty of any guards, which struck Raven as strange, but she pointed out the harmless-looking old man to Maron. "That must be him," she said.

Run awaaaaaaaaaaay!

Interact with Palpy and Dooku? No, never, why would I ever want to do that? ;)

Now I'm wondering if a lightsaber could slice through Raven's Soul-Self. It occasionally gets hurt, mainly just when the writers want it to.
