As soon as Sam got to the library today, he headed for the stacks to try to find more books on demons that could explain things for him and Andy. It was hard to imagine that there were books he hadn't read yet, but it was still worth a good search.

Sam looked through every book he came across and took the ones that weren't obvious crap off of the shelves. Some of the books were ones he'd read before, but that had been before he knew about the demon blood, and there was a chance there was something he'd overlooked when he hadn't know what to look for at all. He was listening for the sounds of anyone coming in, but was perfectly happy to stay among the books until that happened.

Tempted as he was to just spend the entire day researching, Sam did come back out to the front desk for lunch.

Once he had a sizeable stack of books, Sam brought them all back to the desk to look through them. It would be a lot easier to notice people coming and going that way, and his sense of responsibility won out.

This would have been up earlier but, no lie, I got distracted by someone putting the entire series of Road to Avonlea on the internet. *happy flail*

It was probably good Sam came back out because Chuck would have probably gotten lost trying to find someone in the book section of the library.

"Hope you like BLTs," Chuck said, putting a bag of food onto the desk. "I had a craving for bacon."

"Yeah, I like them," Sam said, smiling at Chuck. "The bacon's the best part, obviously."

As usual, Claire showed up with coffee during second period. She was in a great mood.

"Hey, Sam!"

"If I could have brought just bacon without coming off as weird, I would have," Chuck said. "In a perfect world, maybe."

"Hey Claire," Sam said, getting up from where he'd plopped himself down on the floor. "How's it going?"

"You could get away with that with me," Sam assured him. "I'm not picky."

"Good to know just in case in case I get lazy," he said. Yeah, because going to the Diner took so much effort. "How'd your Parents Weekend go?"

"It's going great," she said, offering him the coffee cup. "What were you doing down there?"

"Sifting through the books on the bottom shelf," he said, taking a sip as soon as he had the coffee. "How was your weekend?"

"It was pretty good, except for the part where I have to admit that you're right," Sam said.

"Right about what?" There were oh so many things he felt he was right about.

"Your father is impossible," Sam said. "I've met a lot of jerks in my life, and he's definitely up there near the top."

"It was... mostly okay," she said. "My mom kinda spazzed about the weird stuff and threatened to tell my dad, but your stepmom and Jack calmed her down."

"Shit," Chuck mumbled, shaking his head. "I'm sorry, Sam. I should have kept him away from you. He was definitely on top of his bitchy game last weekend."

"Really? Oh good," Sam said. "Zoe's usually pretty good with parents, and I know a lot of people like to be good around the parents during the weekend to try to make this place seem good."

"Except Deadpool apparently," Claire said, rolling her eyes. "He freaked my mom out."

"It's not your fault. I'm the one who approached him," Sam said. "But you were right. Nothing I said about you got through to him."

"Well you're a brave man for trying in the first place," Chuck said with a smirk. "I showed him everything I did with Caritas and Victrola and still he acted like I was the biggest disappointment in the world."

"Well, I don't think he knows how not to freak people out," Sam said. "But every town has their few weird residents, right? We can just pretend he's ours."

"I told him how well you're doing and he just said I was crazy and that it would only be a matter of time before you disappoint me," Sam said. "How could he say that about his own son? Even my dad isn't that bad."

Claire chuckled. "Yeah, I guess so. I have his class next period."
