As soon as Sam got to the library today, he headed for the stacks to try to find more books on demons that could explain things for him and Andy. It was hard to imagine that there were books he hadn't read yet, but it was still worth a good search.

"Hey Claire," Sam said, getting up from where he'd plopped himself down on the floor. "How's it going?"

"It's going great," she said, offering him the coffee cup. "What were you doing down there?"

"Sifting through the books on the bottom shelf," he said, taking a sip as soon as he had the coffee. "How was your weekend?"

"It was... mostly okay," she said. "My mom kinda spazzed about the weird stuff and threatened to tell my dad, but your stepmom and Jack calmed her down."

"Really? Oh good," Sam said. "Zoe's usually pretty good with parents, and I know a lot of people like to be good around the parents during the weekend to try to make this place seem good."

"Except Deadpool apparently," Claire said, rolling her eyes. "He freaked my mom out."

"Well, I don't think he knows how not to freak people out," Sam said. "But every town has their few weird residents, right? We can just pretend he's ours."

Claire chuckled. "Yeah, I guess so. I have his class next period."

"You're very brave. I don't think I could handle a class with him."

"It's a swordfighting class," she said. "It's been fun so far."

"How is all the sword fighting and punching going anyway?" Sam asked.

"I think it's going well," Claire said with a nod.

Sam grinned. "Good. I feel safer already."

"So how was your weekend?" she asked. "Did you have any visitors?"

"Yeah, our friend Missouri came," Sam said, "and Dean came too."

"Aw, I missed Dean?" Claire said. "Too bad. Then again, it's probably a good thing you guys didn't run into my mom. I kind of didn't get around to telling her about Peter."

"I don't blame you. That would have been a really awkward conversation," Sam said. "Especially if Dean or I said something without thinking about it."

"Yeah, that would have made things worse, I think," she agreed. "Did you guys have a good time?"

"We did, yeah," Sam said, looking pleased. "It's getting easier to not see him every day, but I'd still much rather see him than talk to him on the phone or anything. Did you have a good time with your mom, in spite of everything?"

Claire nodded. "Yeah, I did. It was nice to hang out with her."
