Welcome back to Cyborg Theory.

Last week’s class was very successful as you all tried to work out the warning signs of the true identity of a human-form robot.

Today, you have all been informed that Anakin, Kawalsky, Cally, Lee and Aeryn are human-form robots. What are your varying reactions to this news? How would you react to discover that your close friend, acquaintance, classmate and/or that person over there, omg, was not, in fact, human?

I have places for you to comment with your general reactions, if you have any, and specific reactions.

And for the faux-robots in the class, what would be your reaction to (a) discovering that people know, (b) the reactions of your loved ones to this news.

Please show me both your first knee-jerk reaction and a more thoughtful analysis.

//Also, remember that your papers on this exercise are due on Wednesday. I will get them back to you and your grade for the class so far next Monday.//

John drops these (http://img374.imageshack.us/img374/4121/smilespringkc7kx.jpg) on Professor Carter's desk. "Something new for you, Dr. Carter. You can put your keys to your house, car, ship, anything on it. And they're slinkies!"

~~I love you so much~~ She eyes them with narrowed eyes. "Thank you," she says very shortly. And then holds them under the desk where she can feel their little plastic and metal bodies and feel all sekritly happy inside.

Are those of us who are supposed to be the robots supposed to react to the others, as if we were just normal and stuff, or... what? ::scratches her head::

Whatever you'd like. Or tackle people's reactions with both concepts.

Angelus stops by after class is over. He waits in the hallway, indicating that he can come back at another time if he's bothering her.

"How can I help you, dear boy?"

"Awh, doc, you call me that and my non-beating heart starts to sing," Angelus came into the room. "Got a sec? Figured it couldn't hurt to have a pre-meeting about tomorrow's JA get together."

"As you wish. I'd offer you something to eat while we chat, but you don't...~~drink wine~~...eat do you?" she asks quizzically.

"Sometimes I get a hankerin'," Angelus frowned. "It's not yearbook food, right?"

She blinks a bit blankly at him. "What?"

"It's just food food, right?" Angelus clarified. "No secret spells that will cause me to turn into my worst version of myself?"

"Poisoning someone via food is not my style, dear," she says as she pulls out some cheese and crackers.

"Thanks," Angelus came forward to take a seat, and help himself to the food. Momentarily distracted, he asked, "What is your style?"

"That would be telling, wouldn't it?" she says with a feline grin. "Now, the JA. What's the agenda for tomorrow?"

"Parents' Weekend," Angelus wiped his hands to dust off cracker crumbs. "Big deal. I'm thinking we should do something about it."

"Any thing particular up your sleeve?"

"Off the top of my head," Angelus shrugged. "Official JA meet and greet for all members who have family coming to town that weekend. Show them how good their little darlings are doing at school. Also I'm betting that'll be a good weekend for that bake sale we've been talking about.

"Plus," Angelus leaned forward, giving Dr. Carter a private smile, "something tells me our crazy, go-getting kids will have special plans. I think we should encourage them, whatever they may be."

"Fantastic. I do look forward to it. I hear that some rather interesting parents will be joining us that weekend. Could be... very intriguing."

"I'll bring it all up at tomorrow's meeting," Angelus promised. "Did you have anything you wanted to say to the gang? I can put it on the schedule."

[ooc: no worries]

"Sure, I can think of something," she eyes him with a smile.

"Always happy to hear from you," Angelus said. "You know you are one of my favorite members of the staff. And not just because you helped an 18th century boy like me understand how to work the computers."

"I like to see a boy with talent succeed."

"I feel loved and encouraged," Angelus replied. "What about you, doc? Anything I can do to make your day brighter, happier, filled with glee?"
