Sam had tried to sleep last night, or at least fake it for Illyria's sake, but he couldn't keep his conversation with Andy from replaying over and over in his head. He wasn't alone with his demon-supported ability, not anymore, and while that was vaguely reassuring, it also meant that Yellow Eyes hadn't lied to him about there being other kids like him, and that meant everything else he'd ever said to Sam could be true too.

The demon blood was a whole separate issue. It explained so much - how he ended up with visions, what Yellow Eyes had been doing in his nursery - but left him with dozens of other questions - why didn't he have a problem with holy water, why didn't he have trouble in church, how quickly would his dad disown him when he found out? He was trying to stay hopeful until he had time to talk to Castiel, but it wasn't easy. Hopefully, he'd have some solid distractions to get him through the day.

"I'll be careful," Sam promised him. "Just tell Castiel not to mention the angel part. If he talks about you becoming a better person, maybe your dad will just think he's lying." Stupid, stupid man.

"Getting Castiel to not mention the angel thing is next to impossible. But, you're right, my dad wouldn't believe anything he says," Chuck said. "Anyway, I think I've got the both of them distracted enough for the weekend that they won't have the chance to run into each other."

He'd helped to plan some of the distractions for the parents, but... "How are you distracting Castiel?" Sam asked.

"Dean and I are taking him out." See, not lying. Just not being specific.

"To buy a new outfit?" Sam asked.

"God, I wish," Chuck said, shaking his head. "We're just going out to have a little fun."

Again, not lying.

"What kind of fun?" Sam asked. Not that the lack of specifics were worrying him or anything.

"Fun you're not going to want to be a part of," Chuck said. "Is there any way we can leave it at that?"

"If it involves drugs, I'd like to remind you that a) Dean needs to be able to operate a weapon when he leaves here, and b) getting an angel drunk and/or stoned is probably not going to win you any favors when you die," Sam said.

"It does not involve drugs," Chuck told him. "And I would like to point out that Andy introduced him to weed before I did. I can't help that Cass liked it."

"Yeah, well, that doesn't mean you need to encourage it," Sam said. "If it doesn't involve drugs, then what?"

Chuck looked at Sam for a moment then decided that if he tried to make a run for it Sam would just end up catching up to him. Damn him and his long legs.

"Okay, so, don't freak out," Chuck warned. "But I found out Castiel is a virgin. So Dean and I are going to go out and get him laid."

Ha paused.

"Don't freak out."

Sam stared at Chuck. And then he stared some more. And then he tried to say something, but no, there was just more staring.

"You're what?" he said. "Of course Castiel is a virgin! He's an angel! You can't have an angel have sex! You're going to go to hell, both of you. So, so hard."

Chuck sighed. "Sam, what you're doing right now is the opposite of not freaking out."

"You can't expect me to not freak out," Sam said. "Why are you trying to get him laid? How in the world does that seem like a good idea?"

"I don't understand how it's not a good idea," Chuck said. "One, it might make him loosen up a little. Two, it'll definitely help him understand the human race better. And, three, I'll be damned if any friend of mine is going to go around risking his life trying to stop apocalypses and shit only to die a virgin."

Sam had a whole new rant forming until something stopped him short.

"Did you just call Castiel your friend?"

Chuck groaned. "That is what you're focusing on?"

He'd rather be yelled at about the sex thing.

"Oh, don't think I've stopped thinking about how you're going to hell," Sam said. "I just never imagined that out of all the people on the island, you'd end up calling an angel of the Lord your friend."

"Why wouldn't I?" he asked. "He's fun to listen to, gives me good advice and hasn't been scared off by anything I've done. I don't know if that's a friend or not, but he's more than just a guy I talk to."

"Awww, Chuck." Yes, Sam just awwwed him. He was having a crappy day and getting happiness where he could. "That definitely counts as a friend."

"Ugh, Sam. Now I'm wondering why I'm friends with you, you big girl."

"Because I listen to you and put up with you and I'm hard to scare off," Sam said. "And because I'm willing to meet your dad, even knowing he's a jerk."

"I guess that's worth keeping you around," Chuck teased. "But I'm crediting your masochistic streak for wanting to meet my dad."

"Am I allowed to get annoyed with him if he starts talking crap about you?" Sam asked.
