Fandom vs. The Real World- 2nd Period- Class #5
"Well," Aeryn said when everyone was in their seats, "I wish I had the foresight to be able to have prepared you adequately for what happened last week. I'm sure if you weren't a female who turned into a male, you knew someone who did, or at least heard about it, so I want to take a moment to check in and see what it was like for everyone." And she might have been hoping Karla made it through okay, shhh.
Once the discussion was over, she continued, "This weekend is Parents Weekend. You may or may not have someone coming, but I'll have you know that I never had anyone show up for me, and yet I still ended up dealing with other people's friends and family. And there will always be someone who doesn't want certain things to make it back to those from home. Unfortunately there are no classes to ease them into it. Some of you might be fine telling your family everything that's going on here, and that is a good thing. Others might not have that luxury, and it takes some talking around things sometimes. I don't suggest outright lying. If you get caught, it's going to be bad. But there are ways to stretch the truth. Each of you is going to choose a topic, and pair up in order to try and explain it to the other person in a way that would not make anyone panic. Consider it practice."

Activity
Your roommate has turned into a bird.
Your significant other is actually an alien.
There are people fighting to death in the park.
Elves have started stealing personal items.
You have a friend from home here, except they're from a different timeline.
Your parents met your friend... except they were gremlin-bitten at the time.
Your roommate has fallen into Locker 327.
The washing machines have rebelled and are leaving people without clothing.
You have a doppleganger.
Re: Activity
So, this weekend was going to be a picnic, wasn't it. Maybe he could avoid it all? He could hope!
Re: Activity
Re: Activity
"I'm just... not sure how my dad's going to take it." Which was vague, but really, even normal parents would find this place tough to swallow.
Re: Activity
Re: Activity
"But sure, I'd like to work with you!" Just so that was clear. "Hi. I'm Chuck."
Re: Activity
Re: Activity
"So... sort of?" Yeah. "Alternate universes are a bit... blurry, like that."
"It's nice to meet you too!" That possibly should've been the first thing he said, but, at least it got in there eventually.

She shook her head. "I'm Beka, by the way. Sorry, I'd not mean to ignore your question."
The player was just being a flake.Re: Activity
Totally fine!""Nice to meet you, Beka," Karla said, momentarily distracted. She knew that name somehow. Right! "Hey--you're Emma's Younger Sib, aren't you? New this term? I heard on the radio that she took you shopping." Karla laughed. "She did the same thing for me when I arrived."

Yakko pulled a balloon from behind his back and presented it to Mat. He was trying to fend off panic with colorful bribery.
