"Well," Aeryn said when everyone was in their seats, "I wish I had the foresight to be able to have prepared you adequately for what happened last week. I'm sure if you weren't a female who turned into a male, you knew someone who did, or at least heard about it, so I want to take a moment to check in and see what it was like for everyone." And she might have been hoping Karla made it through okay, shhh.

Once the discussion was over, she continued, "This weekend is Parents Weekend. You may or may not have someone coming, but I'll have you know that I never had anyone show up for me, and yet I still ended up dealing with other people's friends and family. And there will always be someone who doesn't want certain things to make it back to those from home. Unfortunately there are no classes to ease them into it. Some of you might be fine telling your family everything that's going on here, and that is a good thing. Others might not have that luxury, and it takes some talking around things sometimes. I don't suggest outright lying. If you get caught, it's going to be bad. But there are ways to stretch the truth. Each of you is going to choose a topic, and pair up in order to try and explain it to the other person in a way that would not make anyone panic. Consider it practice."

"It was disconcerting to awaken in a body that was not my own," Raven said. "But having seen it happen to the boys and knowing such a thing was very possible in Fandom, and that it would only last for a day, I did not panic." Much. Having expected to have nothing to say to this topic, since in fact nothing new had happened to her body (she was still going to stare at anyone who asked with a challenging smirk, though) Illyria found herself slightly disconcerted to hear Raven's take on the situation.

"Such was my experience awakening in this body," she said, perhaps a bit stiffly. "Though without the knowledge that it would end."

Karla stared, stony-faced, at the top of her desk. She highly doubted there was anyone in the school who hadn't heard about how 'well' she'd handled it. Was it her fault that it went counter to everything she'd ever believed?

Karla looked up and gave Raven a smile, sending warmth and friendship back. "Thanks. I'm better now," she said. "Maybe next time, I'll get enough advanced notice to leave the island before the change hits."

...No one had explained that little detail to her yet.

Chuck... wasn't sure he wanted to have to explain any of these things to his dad. He was paranoid enough without knowing anything.


So, this weekend was going to be a picnic, wasn't it. Maybe he could avoid it all? He could hope!

Chuck, sort of lost in his own world, turned his head towards her a little more sharply than he'd intended. Raven being a very pretty girl was not going to help his nervy and awkward feeling any.

"I'm just... not sure how my dad's going to take it." Which was vague, but really, even normal parents would find this place tough to swallow.

Yakko pulled a balloon from behind his back and presented it to Mat. He was trying to fend off panic with colorful bribery.
