Library - Saturday [9/26]

George wasn't near an expert on libraries, but over the last few weeks, he'd learned a few things about them. One was that books went on shelves.

Which was the reason he was completely puzzled that when he started to put books away and do the other library aide tasks, he was finding fruit on the shelves. Books too, yes, but all around the books - laid on top, set on the ends of the row, even in a few awfully messy but quickly cleaned up cases, under the books - there was a veritable fruit salad.

He filled the cart with fruit and took it back to dump on the front desk - the cherries were set to the side because they were George's absolute favourite - then went back for more.

Anyone coming into the library would probably find themselves the winner of a giant fruit basket.

"So not like th'head or somethin'," he theorised.

"No, I leave the potty jokes and songs to my brother," Yakko said, shaking his head.

"Probably wise," George agreed. "I wouldn' wanna be in there and suddenly hear singin'."

"That doesn't count for the shower, of course," Yakko said. "It probably says that in a book somewhere in here."

"Oh, so tha's you singin' in there?" he asked.

"No, I actually take baths. Just don't ask where I have access to a bathtub," Yakko said.

"...but what if 'm curious now?"

"Hold on a second," Yakko said before dashing away. He came back a few seconds later. "I've hidden the location of the bathtub in a book. You're just going to have to figure out which one."

"What kinda fruit was on th' book?" he asked.

What? That would narrow it down.

"Pineapple," Yakko said.

"I'll be lookin' for it then," George said. "Why's the bathtub a secret?"

"Because this way it gives everyone something to do," Yakko explained. "I get to hide it, you get to look for it, everyone stays busy."

"Never would want t'keep us from bein' busy," George agreed. "But next time I get t'be choosin' how we stay busy."

"Hmm. I guess I can agree to that," Yakko said. He pulled a contract out of his pocket and put it on the desk. "Just sign here and it'll be official that you get the next one."

George cracked up though he was kinda staring at wtf random contract. He reached over for a pen to sign it with.

"Normally I jus' shake on it..." he said, writing his name carefully.

"I'm from Hollywood, pal. Nothing's official unless there's a contract," Yakko said.
