Library - Saturday [9/26]

George wasn't near an expert on libraries, but over the last few weeks, he'd learned a few things about them. One was that books went on shelves.

Which was the reason he was completely puzzled that when he started to put books away and do the other library aide tasks, he was finding fruit on the shelves. Books too, yes, but all around the books - laid on top, set on the ends of the row, even in a few awfully messy but quickly cleaned up cases, under the books - there was a veritable fruit salad.

He filled the cart with fruit and took it back to dump on the front desk - the cherries were set to the side because they were George's absolute favourite - then went back for more.

Anyone coming into the library would probably find themselves the winner of a giant fruit basket.

"Why would I have two songs about the library? The one song's just going to be played all the time in syndication anyway," Yakko said.

Yeah, she had nothing for that. "...What?"

"It's not important," Yakko said. "Do you need help finding anything?"

"I was looking for books on cat costumes," she said, wondering suddenly if he worked here.

"I could get a Sylvester costume if you point me to the nearest amusement park," Yakko said. "I have some pull at Six Flags."

"...I meant costumes for cats," she said slowly.

"I could wash it until it shrinks, but I don't know why you'd want a cat to dress like another cat," Yakko said.

This boy... thing was confusing. "I don't want my cat to dress up like another cat. That'd be stupid."

"Then why did you suggest it?" Yakko asked.

"I didn't. You did."

"Are you sure? That doesn't sound like something I'd do," Yakko said.

"Well, you did. Trust me," she said, folding her arms.

"I'd like to, I really would, but I just don't know how trustworthy you are," Yakko mused.

"You've giving me a headache," Angela decided.

"The books on headache cures are over there, by the oranges," Yakko said.

Weirdest sentence ever. "I'm going to take an aspirin. Away from here."

"Have fun with that!" Yakko said. "And good luck with the cat costumes!"
