Instead of his usual trip through the shelves to find something to read all day, Sam settled in at the desk with his script for the play. He was going to have to memorize his lines quickly if he wanted to be able to do things like learn how not to trip over his own feet on stage.

"Oh, well, that would be me. I'm always the refuser," Sam said. "Unless I don't know there's anything to refuse."

"Hey, you said you'd try my brownies," Andy reminded him.

Sam shifted a little in his chair. "I did, didn't I? We'll have to try them on a day when I don't have class the next day."

Andy grinned. "That's what weekends are for."

"That and visiting my boyfriend," Sam said, unable to keep from grinning. "We're also less likely to get into trouble on the weekend. The principal doesn't listen to the radio then, usually."

"I told you, you don't need to worry about getting into trouble if you're with me," Andy assured him, then asked, "Boyfriend?"

"If there's one thing you'll learn about me, it's that I always worry about trouble," Sam said. "And yeah, his name's Peter. He just graduated so he's home now, and I'm finally getting to see him this weekend."
