Instead of his usual trip through the shelves to find something to read all day, Sam settled in at the desk with his script for the play. He was going to have to memorize his lines quickly if he wanted to be able to do things like learn how not to trip over his own feet on stage.

"Or quite dangerous," Sam said. "Also, do you have issues with having sex with only one person at a time?"

"I usually only have sex with one person at a time," Chuck said. "Take yesterday, for instance. I had sex with my sister in the afternoon and Effy in the evening. One at at time."

He really could have said 'Rose' instead of 'sister' but where was the fun in that?

"You had sex--" Sam started, before remembering that Serena wasn't around anymore. "Which sister? That's so not what's supposed to happen when people are the wrong gender."

"Rose. And why isn't it supposed to happen? This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and they wanted to see what it was like," Chuck said. "Since I am the best lay Fandom has ever seen, I was the natural choice when it came to helping them with their experimentation."

"Yeah, you're all about the experimentation," Sam said, with another glance to the computer. "Sometimes I wonder if I'm here specifically to balance you out when it comes to sex."

"I think you could have just as much fun as I do when it comes to sex," Chuck said. "If you quit holding yourself back."

"Oh, trust me, I have plenty of fun during sex," Sam said. "And it doesn't involve crossing an international border and possibly needing to be bailed out by an embassy."

"Why must you be so judgmental?" Chuck asked. "How do you know I didn't have fun doing those things?"

"I'm sure you did. But you don't have to do that to have fun," Sam said. "I mean, maybe you do, but I don't."

"I don't need to do that to have fun." He's had plenty of normal sex, thank you. "It's just I don't immediately say no should those kinds of opportunities arise."

And he couldn't help that those kinds of situations arose around him a lot.

"Most people don't get into those kinds of situations to begin with," Sam pointed out. "It's like a gift with you."

"Gift's a nice way of putting it," Chuck said. "I think my father and my family's lawyers would lean more towards 'curse'."

"It would be a curse if you didn't try to make sure people had a good time," Sam said. "If you weren't even the slightest bit concerned with making sure they enjoy themselves."

"What can I say? I'm eager to please," Chuck joked. "To be honest it's more about upholding my sterling reputation than actually caring about their enjoyment."

Yes, because we can't have people thinking he actually cared. That was the rule.

"You have a sterling reputation for bringing people pleasure," Sam said, glancing back at the computer screen. "In fact, I'd say it's a platinum reputation, just from the sheer number of people."

"Well I'm not lying when I say I'm the best," Chuck said easily. "Everybody has their talents. Mine is sex. Yours is being a huge geek."

"Being a huge geek is just as useful," Sam insisted. "Just to different people."
