Sam had stopped for coffee and breakfast this morning, so he was totally alert by the time he got to the library. Whether this would translate to him doing active work, or if he'd just read more, was anyone's guess.

Claire came in with coffee for Sam and hot chocolate for herself.

She noticed the title of the book when she handed him his cup. "Hey, Sam. Missing Peter, huh?"

Sam glanced up, and looked a little sheepish as he took the cup. "Yeah, it's not the same without getting to see him every day," he said. "But I'm dealing with it okay, I think. How are you?"

"Doing okay," she said. "Today's my busy class day."

She sipped her hot chocolate before asking, "So, how do you think it went yesterday?"

"I think it went great," Sam said. "Everyone did really well."

Claire grinned. "Good. Waiting to find out is the hardest part."

"Yeah, I know how you feel. I'm not going to find out about the play in town until after the weekend, I think," Sam said. "But I'll give you a hint: I wouldn't worry if I were you."

"I'll try not to," she promised. "So you tried out for the play? That's cool."

"Yeah, I've been trying to keep myself occupied," Sam said. "It's working well so far."

"Anything I can do to help?" Claire asked.

"You visit me and bring me coffee and talk to me," Sam said. "That helps a lot."

"Gee, Sam, I didn't realize you were that easy," she joked.

Not dirty. Mostly.

"Hey, you make that sound like a bad thing," Sam said, laughing.
