There were flowers on the desk when George got to the library, but he ignored them. He was a man, dammit, not a girly flower person.

So pay no attention to the fact that after spending an hour making sure all the books were shelved and all that, he was checking the pots to make sure they had enough water and everything. No dead flowers on his girly flower person watch.

"I was looking for some recent US History books," Jennifer said. "Figure I might as well read up."

"...in case there's a test?"

"So I'm more familiar with the time?" Jennifer said. "I'll be here for two years. It'd be a shame to be slightly lost on that stuff for all the time."

"T'would be a shame," George agreed, trying so hard not to tease and be a good library aide. "I'm thinkin' th' history stuff is over here," he said, starting towards one of the corners of the library. "An' then it's separated by th' country an' stuff."

"Thanks," Jennifer said. "So you're doing well? Random notes brining you to the library aside, of course."

"I can't be complainin'," he admitted. "Tis easier this time around bein' not new. An' yerself? Did ye end up wit' another tiny sibling?"

Jennifer nodded. "Didi," she said. "Have you met her?"

"Don' think so," George said. He flashed her a mischievous grin. "Is she pretty?"

Jennifer nodded. "She is, definitely," she said. "You want me to try and set you two up?"

He laughed. "Nah, th' last time I did go on a date, didn't work out so well. 'm swearing off lasses for now."

"Uh-oh," Jennifer said. "That doesn't sound good."

"Tis fine," he said, still looking amused. "Me mate an' I had a disagreement about a lass."

Jennifer winced. "Both wanted to go after the same girl, huh?"

"No, no, he knew th' lass from home," George said. "An' found it odd."

"Ahhhh, the protective type," Jennifer said. "Well, that just means you either have to distract him, or find girls that don't have that kind of friend." She smiled.

He shook his head. "He's a good friend. Any lass wit' a friend like that is a lucky girl."

"Well, good for her, definitely," Jennifer said. "I'm trying to look out for your interests."
