There were flowers on the desk when George got to the library, but he ignored them.  He was a man, dammit, not a girly flower person.

So pay no attention to the fact that after spending an hour making sure all the books were shelved and all that, he was checking the pots to make sure they had enough water and everything.  No dead flowers on his girly flower person watch.
