Library [09/10]

Sam's morning ritual had somehow managed to take less time today than usual, so he got to the library earlier than usual as well. Deciding to put the time to good use, Sam checked for dust and messes in all the places that he had to stretch to reach, figuring that none of the other aides could get to those spots at all. He wasn't sure where the flowers in the library kept coming from, but he took the time to water those too before unlocking the doors and opening the place up.

"I guess that's what the alumni network is for, so you'll always have people to talk to about the weird stuff, if you really need to," Sam said.

"Maybe you'll do that," Chuck said. "I get the feeling I probably won't keep in touch after."

It's not like he was knee deep in friends, here. Of course the same thing could be said for when he was in New York too.

"If you think you're not keeping in touch with me, you're nuts," Sam said plainly.

Chuck rolled his eyes. "You'll be in college, I'll be running New York City, it's going to be easy to forget weekly phone calls."

"That's why they invented this little thing called e-mail. And text messages," Sam said.

"You're too optimistic." Already preparing himself for the cut off, a year in advance. That must be a record or something. "But I suppose there's going to be no convincing you."
