The Club Fair - Gym - Friday Afternoon

Today was the day of the club fair! Wasn't it just so exciting?!

Jean was totally excited.

So excited, in fact, that she showed up early to find it just as everything was being set up like the little overachiever she was. Maybe she'd be able to swing voters here!

Oh look! The club schedule! This was going to be so great, right everyone?!

Fiona was a little wary at the idea of 'clubs' but she decided to slip in and see what might be up for this semester.

Jack waved to her slightly. His conversation with Leto on Saturday reminded him it had been some time since he spoke to the girl.

"Fiona! Where have you been keeping yourself?"

Fiona made her way over to him, tucking back a curl as she did. She always seemed to want to look proper when she was talking to Jack.

"Tucked up on Griff's shoulder for a lot of it," she said with a wry smile, "since I got turned into a kitten. Otherwise, in my room. You?"

"Nothing as cute as being curled up on someone's shoulder," and Jack was taking a second to thank all the gods for that. "Classes, mostly, and the play. I traveled a bit last month -- New York with Emma and Vancouver to see Tony."

"That's right!" she remembered, thinking back to last night. It'd almost seemed like it's own world, the playhouse and the show.

"You were very good. I mean, I knew it was you, but I didn't think of it as you. Because you were your part."

...yeah, not so good with expressing things sometimes.

Jack beamed; awkward phrasing or not, he thought he understood what she meant. "That's high praise, Fiona. Thank you. It's easy to disappear if you know who you're trying to be."

"I'm too stubborn. I don't think it'd work. But you did very well."

"I don't bend enough," she said with a nod, "so it'd just be me speaking the lines."

"You could find a character who was you, perhaps," Jack said. He thought a few of the actors had more or less done that, after all.

"But I don't know how much I bent," he added. "Stiffened, maybe. Marshall's not terribly hard for me to understand."

She laughed at that.

"Yeah, that's another thing I'm not good at," she said with a smile that was even mostly genuine.

"So... what're you thinking of joining? Club-wise?"

"Not too many, actually," Jack admitted. "I could do swords or guns but I don't know if I want something so structured. I'll sign up for the business group, at least. What about you?"

"Swords," she said immediately, "but no guns. My Uncle Aaron would be really upset if I tried to use guns. I didn't know you were interested in business, though."

"Fiona! Hi," Dinah said, course-correcting to meet up with the other girl. "You were a kitten? And I missed it?"

"I was and you did," she said with a little grin, "but I was well taken care of. Have you met my kitten? The one I have anyway."

"No!" Dina's smile widened. "I want to! Girl or boy? Is your friendly? Camille needs more friends. And who took care of you? I would've helped, if they needed a break."

"A little girl," she told Dinah with a grin, "and her name is Nyx."

...anyone who knows mythology is welcome to be amused now.

"Griff took care of me, though I'm not sure if he told Karev just who was under the fur."

"Aww," Dinah said, then laughed. "So Griff just randomly had a new pet? And now randomly doesn't?" She grinned. "Maybe she got eaten by a gremlin?" so not dirty.

"I'm pretty sure he has to have figured it out by now. Karev is annoying but he's not stupid."

Beat.

"Well, at least not stupid in that kind of way."

She was pretty certain that repeatedly teasing someone who had spent the day slicing up mutant alligators was, in some manner, very stupid.

Dinah snickered and said, "He's been pretty okay when I've talked to him, but maybe I caught him when he was mellow." Or just tired. "Anyway, I'm glad you're back, and we should do something this weekend maybe. Do you have a new little Sib to show off?"

"I have my 'little sibling' from last term?" she offered with a little grin.

"Who's the only guy in the Infantry Tactics class. I'm not sure if he's happy about that or worried."

"Centurion Max, as he insists. I don't know why he went from really relaxed to really uptight. I kind of like it, but I don't know if I'm the only one."

"Oh. Hunh." Dinah had heard about Other-him from both Raven and Karla, but had no idea what that meant for this guy, who apparently hadn't even been there. "So what's your little sib's name? And how's he dealing?"
