The Club Fair - Gym - Friday Afternoon

Today was the day of the club fair! Wasn't it just so exciting?!

Jean was totally excited.

So excited, in fact, that she showed up early to find it just as everything was being set up like the little overachiever she was. Maybe she'd be able to swing voters here!

Oh look! The club schedule! This was going to be so great, right everyone?!

"No!" Dina's smile widened. "I want to! Girl or boy? Is your friendly? Camille needs more friends. And who took care of you? I would've helped, if they needed a break."

"A little girl," she told Dinah with a grin, "and her name is Nyx."

...anyone who knows mythology is welcome to be amused now.

"Griff took care of me, though I'm not sure if he told Karev just who was under the fur."

"Aww," Dinah said, then laughed. "So Griff just randomly had a new pet? And now randomly doesn't?" She grinned. "Maybe she got eaten by a gremlin?" so not dirty.

"I'm pretty sure he has to have figured it out by now. Karev is annoying but he's not stupid."

Beat.

"Well, at least not stupid in that kind of way."

She was pretty certain that repeatedly teasing someone who had spent the day slicing up mutant alligators was, in some manner, very stupid.

Dinah snickered and said, "He's been pretty okay when I've talked to him, but maybe I caught him when he was mellow." Or just tired. "Anyway, I'm glad you're back, and we should do something this weekend maybe. Do you have a new little Sib to show off?"

"I have my 'little sibling' from last term?" she offered with a little grin.

"Who's the only guy in the Infantry Tactics class. I'm not sure if he's happy about that or worried."

"Who's teaching that? And I'm guessing he wouldn't want to go clothes shopping with us, then."

"Max," she answered before rolling her eyes.

"Centurion Max, as he insists. I don't know why he went from really relaxed to really uptight. I kind of like it, but I don't know if I'm the only one."

"Oh. Hunh." Dinah had heard about Other-him from both Raven and Karla, but had no idea what that meant for this guy, who apparently hadn't even been there. "So what's your little sib's name? And how's he dealing?"

"Danny. And... I don't really know. We've met a few times, but we haven't done much. He settled in pretty quick, though."

"That's cool. Some kids just take to this place right away, don't they?" Dinah asked, thinking of Yakko. She smiled and took another sip of her water. "And now they have syrup rain to prove that none of us lied to them about this place."

"There is that," she had to agree, looking out the window at the syrup rain.

"I'm just glad I haven't had to go out much. I got my trip to 'Dite's done yesterday."

She tilted her head as she considered how to ask.

"What've you been up to?"

"Aside from umpty-billion introductions, the play, which is finally over, woooooo." Dinah rolled her eyes in relief. "And meeting the new people, and a trip to Vancouver and then one to New Gotham. I'm not sure if I saw you in there in between all that." She grinned. "But now I'm staying on this nice, quiet Island. Not going anywhere."

"You do?" Dinah couldn't quite remember why, then it came to her. "Yeah! We were going to go ages ago. Yay! So Sunday's free, maybe?"

"I'm free then as well. Other than my phonecall to Eliot."

She made a face.

"He was really upset when I didn't call for a week and a half. I'm pretty sure he was three seconds from a full on invasion of his own."

"Awwwwww," Dinah teased, and asked, "How is Eliot doing? I never got a copy of that CD Peyton was going to put together."

"I have copies in my room," she admitted as she winced. She hadn't gotten to say goodbye to Peyton.

"And he's all right. Calmed down now that I'm answering texts. He's got a real schedule now, though, so he's complaining about how I got it easy."

"What are you taking? I've got four. Most of them are even kind of normal." Dinah grinned. "Science, Almost-English, Almost-History, and... uh, Defense Against the Dark Arts."
