Instead of his usual plain morning coffee, Sam had gotten the biggest, sweetest coffee concoction that the Perk had to offer, and then headed to the library. If he was going to try to live in the land of denial about how close they were to the end of summer, he was going to need a sugar high on which to cruise.

Instead of cleaning the physical library today, Sam focused on cleaning the main computer so he could stay up at the front desk. He couldn't remember the last time he'd checked for viruses, and he wasn't sure what he'd find.

Sam had apple pie this week, and was already working on his piece as he waited for Dean.

Sam was back at the computer, poking around to see if he could do anything to make it run faster, or at least cleaner.

Woooe end of summer!

Raven stopped by in the morning as she had promised, eager and somewhat nervous to discuss demons from Sam's world. "Good morning, Sam," she said as she arrived, then paused and frowned slightly, sensing sadness and an unwillingness to confront it. She didn't wish to pry, however, so she did not ask about its cause, for the moment at least.

The names for the 2009 Atlantic Hurricane season include both Peter and Sam. It's a sign they were meant to be. Their love is so rocked like a hurricane.

Of course Rose falls between them, which creates all sorts of interesting scenarios. O.O

(Next year, man, HURRICANE NICOLE. Last time in 2004 she was a pansy subtropical storm that just wandered around in circles in the middle of the Atlantic with one hand stapled to her forehead. Next year I'm taking out the Eastern seaboard, I swear it!)

Peter came in at the usual time, totally in denial about the future. "Hey."

Man if it reaches Hurricane Sam it better kick ass of Biblical proportions or I'm going to be pissed. I refuse to lend my name to anything less than awesome.

Precisely why subtropical storm Nicole annoyed me. Not even tropical. SUBtropical. A tropical depression. A freakin' emo hurricane.

In the 2003 season it only got to Peter, no Sam. S Hurricanes are fairly rare, woes.

Despite Diana's negative reaction, Claire decided to head over to the library before work and look for some books on gardening.

"Hey, good morning," Sam replied, pushing himself away from the computer. "It's good to see you."

"Is now a good time?" Raven asked. "I do not wish to disturb you if you are busy."

Sam peered up from the computer and grinned when he saw Claire. "Hey, what's up?" he said.

"Hi, Sam," Claire said, wandering over to the desk. "I was hoping there might be some books on gardening."

"Hey," Sam said, smiling fondly at Peter. "How was your morning?"

"Oh, yeah, now's a great time. I'm just killing time, I'm not doing anything that important," he assured her. "You still want to talk about demons?"

Raven nodded. "Yes. I am very interested to see if they are like those of my world," she said. "And perhaps I may learn something of how to deal with them."

"Regular gardening?" he asked. "Not like, gardening in space? Gardening on planets with no water? Gardening in times of no TV?" He got a lot of weird search requests.

Obviously. Claire was a bit taken aback. "Yes, regular gardening," she finally said. "Rose mentioned that other-me was growing tomatoes and, I don't know, it made me curious."

"Is there anything you want to know in particular?" Sam asked. "I could probably talk about them for days if I had to."

"What form do they commonly take?" Raven asked. "How are you able to identify them? What are their powers? How are you able to imprison or destroy them?" She ducked her head and blushed a little. "I have many questions, as you can see."

"Are you thinking about taking up vegetable gardening?" Sam asked, looking it up on the computer to see where the books would be here. "That would be useful to all the people who love to cook."

See! It's a sign! :D

Rose would be welcome to join them, I think. Mmmmm.

If nothing else, if Hurricane Sam peters out (pun so not intentional, really), then Dean can mock him because Hurricane Dean hit Cat 5 and all in 2007. ;)

"Questions are never a bad thing, really," Sam said. "Our demons take the form of the people they're possessing. If they're not possessing anyone, they just look like black mist. It's easier to get around that way, but it also limits what they can do. Once they've possessed someone, they're super strong and capable of telekinesis. You can imprison them with a devil's trap - it's a circular symbol and if you draw it on the floor or the ceiling, the demon can't move outside of it, or use any of their powers. As for destroying them, you can't, not really. All you can do is exorcise them and send them back to hell."
