Instead of his usual plain morning coffee, Sam had gotten the biggest, sweetest coffee concoction that the Perk had to offer, and then headed to the library. If he was going to try to live in the land of denial about how close they were to the end of summer, he was going to need a sugar high on which to cruise.

"I didn't want you to think you got both pieces," Sam said around a mouthful of pie.

"That's my boy," Dean said fondly, reaching out to muss up his brother's hair. "Doesn't matter; Zoe told me last night she's going to keep me in pie until I go."

"I'll be sure to finish whatever you leave behind," Sam promised. "Assuming we don't find a way to keep you here first."

"It's been a tempting thought," Sam said. "We could arrest you for something, and make you have to stay in jail."

"Yeah like that would actually hold me," Dean scoffed.
