"I'm going to keep the lecture short today because our lesson is practical."

He gestured to the doors that were arrayed behind him.

"Each one of you will be entering a simulated psimoon. Psimoons, as the name might suggest, are planetoids which react to the mind of one person, adapting their terrain to mimic the person's mental state. Your mission, and you're going to accept it if I have to shove you through the door, the lot of you, is to explore your own psimoon and return 'alive' by the end of class.

"If you like it, you can even bring some of your friends to enjoy your psimoon. Once it's locked on an individual, it stays locked."

He beamed brilliantly.

"Good luck."

Danny's looked remarkably like the basement of FentonWorks, except that the portal to the Ghost Zone was closed. Danny was sitting on the floor, watching that door. It was his job, after all, to take care of everyone. He could hear Desiree and Skulker, behind the door, arguing about ways to get it open.

It wasn't so much that his head was full of ghosts, it was that his head held the memories of fights with ghosts, and the knowledge of how to save people from them. Trapped inside him, like the ghosts were trapped behind that door.

He came out of the psimoon thoroughly depressed.
