"He just took it from something I said the first time we met." That was so nice of Jim, giving him a nickname that came from talking about his divorce.

And there was an eye roll. "Do me a favor, kid? At some point you need to go find James T. Kirk and have an raging ego contest. I'm curious to see who would win."

"He another new student?" Dean asked.

"He's an adult. Acts like he's twelve but physically an adult," Bones said. He hadn't yet realized that Jim landed a job as a teacher yet. "He should be wandering around here somewhere."

If he hadn't already got himself arrested or found a woman to go off with yet, that is.

"So he didn't get violated by the black hole de-ager thingy?" Dean asked, having put together that 'friend Jim' and "James T. Kirk' were probably the same person.

"Other than the whole time travel thing? No, he remained the same," Bones said a tad bitterly. It really wasn't fair.

"Time travel here isn't really that out of the ordinary," Dean said. "I'd say probably over half of the students here are from different times. Some are from different planets too. Or dimensions."

"So I've heard. I work in space so I've seen my share of strange things," he said. "I just didn't expect to find it here in the twenty-first century. You aren't supposed to know about aliens yet."

Granted, he technically wasn't supposed to know about time travel for a few more years and yet...

"Aliens weren't really that big a deal," Dean said. "Least for me. My family's been hunting ghosts and demons since I was four so I'm used to weird."

"Ghosts and demons aren't something I'm too familiar with," he admitted. "But, honestly, I've gotten to the point where I'll believe just about anything exists."
