"Yes! I'm her new roommate and that's totally awesome that you're one of her best friends. We'll all get along so well and have super fun times together! I'm taking her to the salon because she's never been pampered which I find so sad." Elle was talky. "I hope not but Dor her ex-roomie passed out seeing her in her underthings."

"Dor might have just been...shy," he said. "Some guys are. It just takes them some time to warm up to girls in their underwear."

"Oh. I see your point. And I don't suspect many girls wander around in just their underwear. Hormones would race and everyone would go crazy with the eye candy. I would look and try not to stare much like I'm doing with you right now. I try hard not to be rude. Are you dating anyone? Because that would affect my stare factor even more if you are I think."

"Yes, I've got a girlfriend," he said, laughing a little. "Who's also my roommate and she's around here somewhere. Her name's Angela."

"Oh! Amazing the administration allows couples to share a room." Evidently teen pregnancy wasn't an issue here. That was encouraging at least. "Angela is super lucky to look at you like you are now whenever you have... no clothes on." There had been no other way to end that sentence so she was blushing now, working to hide it behind a grin.

"We weren't dating when we met," he assured her with a laugh. "So, we weren't a couple. We were just friends for a long time. It just...became more after awhile. But yeah, I think she's lucky too."

She nodded, getting that. "Put two beautiful people in a room together, right? And I'm totally assuming she's beautiful and super fun to hang out with."

"What grade are you in? I hope we'll get to share classes and be involved in extracurricular activities together."

"Uh, I'm a senior now," he said, nodding. "Well, I'll officially be a senior come fall semester. What about you?"

"I'm a sophomore come the fall so yay! We'll get lots of time to do fun stuff together!"

"What do you do for fun around here?"

"Me, personally?" he asked. "Sleep. Swim. Relax. Go to parties. Go to the bar. Things like that."

"Those are fun things. Especially parties. Costume ones are awesome. I heard about the bar that doesn't card. Teenagers can actually go in and just drink alcohol if they want?"

"Yep, it's awesome," Hannibal said, grinning widely. "They don't card and it's close to the school so you can get drunk and not worry about driving."

"How awesome for drunk teenagers," she said with as much enthusiasm as she gives everything else. "I've never been drunk. I've never had alcohol. Oh. Wait. There was this one time when I was staying over at Serena's house and she totally snuck into her parents liquor cabinet and we each had a spoonful of cognac. It was vile. I have no idea why anyone would drink that stuff. Have you been drunk often?"

Man, she just...rattled off sentences faster than he'd ever heard before. "Uh, a few times. I don't do it often because hangovers suck but sometimes, the occasion just calls for it."
