Arthur was still here, although after speaking to Layla, he was altogether more confused. He did a good job of hiding it over another burger, however.

In the course of her wanderings, Karla spotted Arthur. Waiting until he hopefully glanced her way, Karla executed the most perfect and precise-calculated curtsey she could, managing to look graceful even though her skirt barely reached her calves.

Then she smiled--not smirked!--and sauntered off. Let him make of that as he would.
