Yes, there were even more tents on the other side of the lawn.

Yes, the tables and chairs that had been set up there were still close to the ice cream.

Hannibal, in his current state of undress, had not gone unnoticed. Ellie thought those abs were pretty damn awesome.

"Hi," she greeted, finding this to be the perfect time to meet him. Even if he wasn't a new student. "I've seen you around, but I don't think we've met."

"We haven't and that's just a shame," he said, smiling at her. "Hannibal King, pleased to meet you."

"Nice to meet you, Hannibal," Ellie grinned. "I'm Ellie Bartowski."

"Ellie," he said, reaching a hand out. "Are you new or have we just not met?"

"Not as new as some of the people here today," Ellie replied, accepting his hand to shake. "But newer than others. Been here since the beginning of summer."

"So, you're familiar with the shirtless tradition thing," Hannibal guessed. "The lack of pants is...new."

"Definitely familiar with it," Ellie said, nodding. "I'm sure there are some who wouldn't mind the lack of pants thing continuing."

"If you run into Layla who knows stuff, I'm sure you could convince her to help you with that," he said. "She's the one that got me, after all."

"I'll have to meet her then," Ellie replied. "To ask her how she managed to get you to do that."

And possibly thank her.

"She's got a way with words," he said and laughed. "I'm just glad the boxer shorts I wore were kind of interesting."

"Yeah, they are." Not that she was looking. Um. "Good thing the weather's nice today, too."

"I didn't think to bring sunscreen so I'm just hoping I don't get sunburned," he said, wincing up at the sun.

Ellie winced as well because, yeah, ow. The part of her that wanted to be a doctor sort of took over. "I could go find some for you, if you want. Wouldn't want you to be all lobster like."

"No, no," he said, shaking his head. "I should just put my clothes back on, you know. That'd be the easiest way to solve the sunburn problem."

"You're probably right about that." Shame for everyone else, but Ellie thought his well being was more important.

"Next time, I'm gonna have to remember to bring sunblock," he decided. "I can keep my clothes off and not worry about getting burned. Thanks for the offer, though."

Ellie gave a slight smile. "Might want to just carry it around with you all the time. Never know when this might happen again."

"Yeah, well, the shirt I was expecting," he said and laughed. "The pants, not so much. That's new even for me and I've been here for a year or so now."

"This is a new tradition that might catch on," Ellie said.

"And you'll be able to say you saw the person who originated it," he said. "You knew me when I wasn't famous!"

"Well, then I'll have to make sure to remember this day always." As if she could forget.
