BWI - Portalocity Lounge [Friday Morning]

Chloe got off her flight from New York and followed the signs to the lounge. She dumped the duffle bag of clothes that Andrew had hastily purchased on the floor and slumped into one of the uncomfortable airport chairs.

She was still against this plan but she realized on the flight that sulking wouldn't make it any better so she was going to put on a brave face and make the most of it.

Spock materialized in a sparkly transporter beam, bag slung over his shoulder, and looked around the room. It seemed to be some sort of waiting area, which made sense. He'd been informed it was difficult to get a transporter lock on his final destination, and that he would have to take a shuttle the rest of the way. These people must be waiting for the same transport.

Bobby was not staring at the pointy ears. Not staring. Nooooot star-

Honestly, you would think the boy had never seen a Vulcan before. And then something from the middle of his mother's speech on this place clicked: time displacement. Maybe he hadn't.

"May I be of assistance?" Spock asked. It never hurt to be civil.

He'd totally never seen a Vulcan before!

Bobby just grinned, totally unembarrassed about being caught out on the staring thing. "I'm good, I think," he waves the half-eaten (and surprisingly unmelty) ice cream sandwich he'd procured with Mirax earlier. "Got provisions and everything."

"That is good," Spock said. Then he remembered about being polite and added, "I am Spock."

"Spock, okay," Bobby repeated. Why was everyone here either in possession of a weird name or Jean? "I'm Bobby."

Spock was a perfectly normal name. If you were a Vulcan. "Am I correct in inferring you are also beginning studies at 'Fandom High'?" Spock asked. He somehow managed to make 'Fandom High' sound like it tasted funny or something.

Strangely enough, Bobby managed to do the same thing with "Studies?" A frown. "I was told this was summer camp."

Spock's eyebrow went up. "I was under the impression it was a boarding school."

"Well, that too. I knew that. But I thought it was, you know, summer camp at a boarding school."
