BWI - Portalocity Lounge [Friday Morning]

Chloe got off her flight from New York and followed the signs to the lounge. She dumped the duffle bag of clothes that Andrew had hastily purchased on the floor and slumped into one of the uncomfortable airport chairs.

She was still against this plan but she realized on the flight that sulking wouldn't make it any better so she was going to put on a brave face and make the most of it.

"Yeeees?" that frown wasn't going away anytime soon. "Does Professor Xavier know *you're* here?" he shot back.

"Of course he does." DUH. "Look, if this is one of your jokes, it's not funny. You need to go back home."

"Noooo I don't. I'm supposed to be here. The Professor sent me. And I'll have you know my jokes are always funny. This just isn't one of them."

Jean just gave him what was probably a familiar look on the subject of his jokes. "Why would he send you? Is everyone else here too?"

Oh yes, that was indeed a look that crossed dimensions. "You don't remember Scott yelling at me last week? Remember, when I wasn't fast enough with the- fwoosh," he swept one hand out in a sideways arc, "and Warren nearly got, uh, grounded? And no, everyone else is not here. Hank and Warren hugged me goodbye- which was weeeeeird coming from Warren, lemme tell you. *You* hugged me goodbye. Scott just... kinda stood there."

Well, Scott was... different about showing how he felt.

"Warren?"

"Worthington the Third? You know, the guy who brought out the cheesy pick up lines within five minutes of meeting you? Tall, blond-" he glanced around to make sure no one was listening- "-huge white wings?" he added in a whisper.

Maybe Jean hit her head while she was in the plane or something?

"Old?" Jean prompted. Because, ew. He was like Mr. Logan. "Why would he be at the mansion?"

"He's not old! Well, he's older than me. But then everyone is. And he's there because he lives there, duh."

"He lives in New York," Jean replied, like this should have been obvious. And then, reached forward toward his forehead. "Are you feeling alright?"

"Westchester's in New York," Bobby pointed out. See, he didn't totally fail at geography! "I'm fiiiiine," he sighed.

"New York New York!"

"I think his parents live there?" Bobby offered.

"What?" Could anything just make sense? Please?

"Little Warrens have to come from somewhere, Jean," Bobby pointed out.

"Warren's an adult, Bobby. He doesn't live with his parents anymore."

"I know he doesn't live with his parents, because he lives at the school with us!" Bobby argued. "Are *you* feeling alright?"

"He lives in New York City. It's not like he's on the team, so why would he live with us?" Anyone listening in would be so confused now.

...unless it was that creep in the red costume.

"He is so on the team! He was on the team even before *you* were on the team!" Bobby pointed out.

"I've been there since the beginning!" Jean insisted. "With Scott."

"I think I would've remembered you being there!" Bobby insisted right back. "Scott was the Professor's only student before they found me." Not entirely accurate, of course, but he didn't know that.

Jean put her hands on her hips, giving him a look of 'I'm older and know better'.

"Scott and I. Then Kurt joined us."

"Who the hell is Kurt?" Bobby asked. This wasn't getting any less confusing.

"Kurt Wagner? He's--" She looked around to make certain no one was listening. "Fuzzy, blue, has a tail?"

"Neeeever heard of him," Bobby shook his head.
