Library [06/03]

Sam had noticed the flowers on his way to and from the Perk this morning, but he hadn't given them much thought aside from hoping that Scout wouldn't try to eat any of them the next time they went on a walk. By the time he got to the library, he was in a really good mood, but since it was nice out and he was going to get to spend his day surrounded by books, that wasn't terribly surprising.

"One of those is still mine," Peter told him. "But if you're looking for the extra energy for later, I won't say no."

"You think I might need extra energy later for something?" Sam asked, smirking.

"Never know," Peter said. "It's a nice day out. We could go to the beach."

"We could find a spot to be alone together," Sam agreed. "Maybe I should let you have your donut so you'll have energy too." That didn't mean he was going to let go of the bag right away though.

"We could," Peter said. "Or we could go back to our room if we wanted to be alone."

Peter was not getting tired of the 'our room' concept anytime soon.

"Our room wouldn't be quite as hot," Sam said, just as pleased with the term. "And there'd be no sand to contend with."

"Comfy furniture," Peter pointed out. "Nice flat surfaces to put our dinner on."

"And do other things. Flat surfaces are so versatile," Sam pointed out.

"Though some are more comfortable than others," Peter pointed out.

"True. We'll have to make sure the good ones are clear," Sam said, taking one of the donuts and starting to slowly eat it.

"If somebody had a nice boyfriend, he might do that in advance," Peter pointed out.

Sam pretended to think about that for a moment. "Hey, I have a nice boyfriend. A really nice one, in fact."

"Do you?" Peter asked. He leaned in. "Is he cute?"

"Oh yes, he's very cute," Sam said, leaning in too. "In fact, I think 'hot' describes him better."

"Not as hot as you," Peter scoffed with disbelief.

"Oh, you'd be surprised. He's also sweet and kind, and it makes him even more attractive."

"He sounds almost as amazing as you are," Peter replied.

"Even more so. I didn't even get into the powers," Sam replied. "He's pretty much the most amazing guy in the world."

"Pretty sure he can't be as amazing as you," Peter said. He leaned in to try to kiss Sam.

Sam laughed and closed the space between them to kiss Peter. Somehow, it felt even more right than usual.

Peter agreed with that. Kissing Sam felt very right. If he thought about it he might attribute it to wanting to be with Sam as much as possible before summer ended.

But that involved thinking and thinking got in the way of kissing.

Sam tried to lean in closer, leaning further over the desk and counter so he could kiss Peter harder.

Peter made a happy sound and reached for a handful of Sam's shirt so he could pull Sam closer still.

That got Sam even closer, but it still wasn't close enough, and when he pulled away from Peter to catch his breath, he looked around for a moment before moving around from behind the desk. "Come here," he said, reaching for Peter's hand.

Peter was happy to follow anywhere Sam wanted to lead. He let Sam take his hand and gave it a squeeze. "Okay."
