Library [06/03]

Sam had noticed the flowers on his way to and from the Perk this morning, but he hadn't given them much thought aside from hoping that Scout wouldn't try to eat any of them the next time they went on a walk. By the time he got to the library, he was in a really good mood, but since it was nice out and he was going to get to spend his day surrounded by books, that wasn't terribly surprising.

Peter agreed with that. Kissing Sam felt very right. If he thought about it he might attribute it to wanting to be with Sam as much as possible before summer ended.

But that involved thinking and thinking got in the way of kissing.

Sam tried to lean in closer, leaning further over the desk and counter so he could kiss Peter harder.

Peter made a happy sound and reached for a handful of Sam's shirt so he could pull Sam closer still.

That got Sam even closer, but it still wasn't close enough, and when he pulled away from Peter to catch his breath, he looked around for a moment before moving around from behind the desk. "Come here," he said, reaching for Peter's hand.

Peter was happy to follow anywhere Sam wanted to lead. He let Sam take his hand and gave it a squeeze. "Okay."

Sam squeezed Peter's hand too, and took another quick glance around before leading him into the stacks, to the very back of one of the rows. As soon as they were as far back as they could get, Sam turned and faced Peter again, pleased with how much closer he could be now. "Hi," he said, laughing at how stupid he sounded.

Peter thought Sam had a nice laugh. He had a nice smile that went along with that laugh too. He reached up to put his hands on Sam's shoulders. "Hi."

With Peter's hands on his shoulders, Sam felt more confident in trying to move and press Peter back against the shelves. "This is better than being at the desk, I think," he said.

"Way better," Peter agreed. He took advantage of the lack of distance to kiss Sam again.

Sam didn't waste any time in kissing Peter again, harder now that he could.

Peter was all for harder. Faster and wetter were also good options, so Peter introduced them to the mix.

Sam moaned at the additions, and when he pulled back, he only went as far as resting his head against Peter's. "Okay, I need your honest opinion about something," he said.

"You are really good at that," Peter told him, in case the question was Sam's kissing skills.

Sam laughed and couldn't resist nuzzling a little at Peter's neck. "I haven't even asked yet," he said. "I'm just thinking, I'm a good library worker, right? I come in every week, even when I'm not supposed to sometimes, and I do my job really well, don't you think?"

Peter tilted his head to make it easier for Sam to nuzzle. "You are a very good library worker, in my honest opinion."

Peter's skin was nice and warm, and Sam couldn't bring himself to pull away, even if it meant nearly trapping Peter against the shelves. "I appreciate that opinion, I really do," he said. "Do you think that means that if, just this once, I want to leave early so we can go back to our room, because I kind of can't think about anything else, that it might be okay?"

"Absolutely okay." Peter moved his hands down to Sam's hips and gripped tightly. To help Sam's balance, of course. "I'd say you've earned that kind of reward. Especially for something you really really want."

"You're what I really really want," Sam said, resisting the urge to start kissing Peter again. "I'll get the coffee if you get the donuts, and we can go together."

Peter might have gotten momentarily lost in the thought of using some of the ice in the coffee all over Sam's skin. "I really wish I could teleport. But okay."

"We can walk fast," Sam said. "We can race. First person back to the room gets to pick what we do for the rest of the afternoon."

"I can fly," Peter reminded him.

"I know," Sam said simply. "I'm okay with that."

"I can take you with me," Peter pointed out. Because the idea of waiting for Sam to get to him was just not appealing.

"Are you sure?" Sam asked. "I'm not too tall for that?"

"Positive." Peter grabbed Sam's shirt and hauled him closer for one last kiss before they left.
