Arts & Crafts [Period 1, 6/1]
Sophie was burying her yawns in a cup of coffee as she greeted the class. "Good morning, I'm Sophie Devereaux. I'm substituting for Mr. Rogers this week; he had an out-of-town emergency. He's left me instructions on how you can all make lanyards, though, as well as key chains, if you prefer. Have fun with the beads and cords, and, well. I can't really answer any questions. I'm a fan of art, not an artist. Have at it!"
[ocd up!]

Re: Craft/Chatter
He held it up so she could have a better view of it.
It was... definitely a squid. He'd managed to completely fail at 'butterfly,' there.
[I'm fleeing out the door in about five minutes for work. Do you mind SP?]
Re: Craft/Chatter
Maybe?
[OOC: We loves the SP, precious!]
Re: Craft/Chatter
He grinned faintly, and then shrugged.
"So. Do you like squid?"
Re: Craft/Chatter
Re: Craft/Chatter
He was easily amused.
"I hear squid are pretty versatile that way!"
Re: Craft/Chatter
Re: Craft/Chatter
The boy had a pocket full of Pixy Stix. And now he was going to be educated about another kind of candy? The world as we know it probably didn't have long to live.
"But they already sound better than dried squid. Why would anyone dry it, anyhow?"
Re: Craft/Chatter
"I don't know why you'd dry it," she admitted. "It's a little like eating rubber bands, so I'll pass. Omigod you have to try M&Ms," she said, reaching into her enormous purse and pulling out a bag of M&Ms.
Re: Craft/Chatter
Abandon all hope, ye who enter here!
"I have a few Pixy Stix on me, if you'd like to trade!"
Re: Craft/Chatter
Re: Craft/Chatter
Because people totally ate the Pixy Stix for the flavors and not the immediate sugar high. Really.
Re: Craft/Chatter
Re: Craft/Chatter
"I have green!" He did! He'd picked through most of them to set aside the flavors that Dinah had asked for, but he'd saved a few for himself, too, for variety.
His beaded squid was totally forgotten, now. He was pulling out sugar-flavored-sugar, and that was so much more important. A bit of rummaging, and...
"Green!"
Re: Craft/Chatter
Discerning palates can taste the differences, okay?
Re: Craft/Chatter
Well, dang it, he did it again. Conversation was so easy to start, here, without proper introductions! "I don't think I caught your name! I'm Zack, by the way."
Re: Craft/Chatter
Re: Craft/Chatter
A pause. And then a bit of a laugh.
"Want a squid?"
Re: Craft/Chatter
It wasn't a rule.
Re: Craft/Chatter
And he'd only had minimal amounts of sugar, so far.
"Junior."
Re: Craft/Chatter
Re: Craft/Chatter
Really, he couldn't look more proud of himself over a botched butterfly if he tried.
Re: Craft/Chatter
Re: Craft/Chatter
That was the most awesome idea ever.
"I bet it would look great on you, too!"
Because... she really had the hips to properly pull off the squid look? Maybe it was best Zack not think on the specifics, too much.
Re: Craft/Chatter
Re: Craft/Chatter
Sure, he made the 'purple jumpsuit with armor' look half decent and all. But he was kind of lacking in variety. A lot.
