Fashion! Releasing Your Inner Superhero, etc. [Thursday, May 14, 1st period]
"It is far too early," Edna grumbled as she stomped up to the students assembled in the Danger Shop with a cup of coffee almost as tall as she was. "People in the fashion industry seldom trouble with the bothersome morning hours."
She glanced around at the faces assembled before her. "I am Edna Mode, and you fortunate few have been graced with my presence for the precious time between fashions seasons," she announced. "Because you signed up for this class, you either have grand plans of becoming superheroes or have difficulty reading and understanding long words." Her gaze rested on a few students that she thought that might apply to. "Either way, it is far to much work to get out of taking my course. People pay me thousands of dollars to notice them! Why wouldn't you want to be here?"
She didn't stop to let anyone answer that.
"Today you will tell me your name--" she meant a superhero name, "and your boring alterego name if you have one. If I do not find the names to be suitable, I will give you another one!"
She sniffed. "And after that, you will design a logo for your superhero uniform." A snap from her finger and a logo appeared in midair. She smiled. "I do enjoy this room. This is an interesting logo! It is sleek, it has interesting colors, it has an "I" for Incredible for villains who can read...excellent." She'd designed it. "This is just as interesting. THIS is a crime against people with eyes," she snapped. "It's gaudy and pink and incomprehensible! Bah! Do not do such things!"
She clapped her hands together and tables full of fabric (and yes, more than a little bit of glitter. She'd taken the deluge as a 'we're so glad you're here' thing), piping, and very sharp scissors. "I will be walking around and offering critique on your choices, as will my assistant, Ms. Davis."
She clapped her hands together again. "Begin!"

Design your logo!
Re: Design your logo!
She finally came up with a bird of prey (http://www.canarynoir.com/img/icon.gif), or maybe it was a black canary? Stylized a bit, not exactly like the ones on the communicators back home, but still recognizable.
And no, not a bat.
Re: Design your logo!
Yes, she was going to be difficult.

Mostly because she immediately ducked her head the second she thought it, and quickly started cutting out the most familiar shape she could think of, which turned out to be a giant red F for Francine.
Or possibly Fail.

"Hi!" she said, with a wave and a smile. "That's me. And you're..." Really quiet, and Francine hadn't picked up her name at all. Gah. "Somebody I haven't met yet!" she finally went with.

He had it in about five different yellow-and-red combinations back in his room.

He just couldn't not do them well. They had been assigned.

...now that he thought about it that could also stand for Chuck and Blair.
Not that he was thinking about that for real. Just a fleeing "oh, hey!" thought. Really.

"Um..." Chuck tilted his head as he tried to think. "Swords are cool looking but, who are we kidding, I can't use one of those. I think I'd have to go with a gun or something since that's the only thing I've ever used."
And he's only used one of those once.

Think of it as a crest.
That helped. The glitter still poofing out of her hair didn't help, but that helped. After a few minutes, she had an idea (she didn't think the woman would like it but she didn't know what else to do) and started: a stylized silver rose.
The whole thing made her angry but it was the one honor she'd been given. It didn't look complete, however. It seemed as if the design was missing something.
Her father's side.
One more thing, then: a gold circle around it with a blue oval at the bottom. There, that (http://i41.tinypic.com/2n7i3rl.jpg) would do it.

Stupid new nickname.

And it had a wrench.

"A heart again?" She reached for a pair of shears and the darkest rose colour. She'd layer hearts in different shades. "And possibly use a flower as the center? I can at least start there. See what Ms Mode thinks."
